The Specialty-Z GTM Stage 2 Build

The last 2 weeks I've been working off an on, on our Z34. It is a happy car now with a pair of turbos on it. Thanks to Sam for a nice kit. The car will be going to F.I. next week to get the catback fabbed up and as soon as its done it will go on our dyno. If all goes well I'll have some dyno results along with some more pictures of the exhaust and setup.

We'll have it out at the drag strip with some good drag radials to see how well it'll do.

RCZ 08-13-2010 10:09 AM

How come you have to get the exhaust fabbed up?

Looks great, its a pretty clutch for sure.

There is no 3" F.I. catback on the market so we'll need to make it on the car to verify fitment. One of the downpipes is also a little too close for comfort to the frame rail. Thanks again.

Hopefully GTM can tweak their design using your feedback. A good installer catches details like that so thumbs up to you.

Sam's going to double check his jigs.

I'll get videos hopefully by the end of the week\weekend. I'm going in for surgery so next week so my immediate plans for fun & testing will be delayed.

Yeah, I was aware of others but meant to clearly state the Fast Intentions (F.I.) did not have a 3" catback out yet.

What happened man? I hope everything is ok. Let us know something........

Seb@SZ 08-27-2010 07:46 PM

I've been battling spinal tumors for over a year now. On Monday I had my second surgery. In the hospital now recovering followed by radiation therapy in 4 weeks. I'll be boosting soon! Thanks to all. :driving:

roplusbee 08-27-2010 07:53 PM

Wow dude. I hope you have a speedy recovery............

kevin1985912 08-27-2010 09:11 PM

damn bro, you do not look like somebody that has spinal tumors. Keep up the fight, hope every thing goes well.

Seb@SZ 10-09-2010 07:47 PM

Got the car back from F.I. yesterday. Tony built us a custom 3" exhaust for the car. I'll get some pics of it as soon as I get it on the lift. For now you'll have to endure some dyno results and video. The runs are just some baselines without very much tweaking to the tune to extract more power.

Holy Jesus, I want a ride. Seriously though, congrats on getting it all wrapped up and running! I am on the fence about going TT or SC when I go FI someday, your TT setup is making me lean towards the snail route!

Bardabe 10-09-2010 08:36 PM

looks good, lets go road racing :)

SAM@GTM 10-09-2010 08:41 PM

Good job Seb, Let's turn up the boost

Sam

Cell 10-09-2010 09:20 PM

That torque curve is flat!

kevin1985912 10-09-2010 10:34 PM

I like it sab, when u do my car this December that will be the number I'm looking for. Are those with your special tune or the GTMs ?

DIGItonium 10-09-2010 11:44 PM

Interesting the curve looks very similar under 3k RPM regardless of boost. That is one clean flat curve! So what does it feel like to drive the car with this much boost?

Thanks Kev. Had no idea you surfed this forum. Going through radiation real soon.

The only thing we hadn't secured is whether or not you want to go with 3" downpipes and catback. This is just on Sam's tune. I'll make some tweaks for optimal A/F for different boost levels.

It feels fantastic! Everyone needs a set of turbos. Boost is an amazing thing.

CBRich 10-10-2010 05:25 AM

Pretty much DOUBLE the horsepower. I'd say that would make a little difference.

oreoleo 10-10-2010 11:30 AM

Do you think you could run 12 psi on meth/water injection and 93 octane?
Every dyno i've seen ran 12psi on 100oct

[/QUOTE]

I probably gonna go with my test pipes and FI catback, so it's probably gonna make less power.

Do you not have 100 octane where you live?

Here we have 105 some brand and 108 Sunoco at a couple gas stations.

Oh and NICE numbers. This is the kind of thing that makes one want to skip the whole supercharger fiasco and just pay a lil extra and get the snails.

kevin1985912 10-10-2010 02:54 PM

You think switching to 3" exhaust will make a big difference compare to my FI 2.5" exhaust with test pipes?

yeah, it made a big difference with the Z32 guys, and that is an old engine with no cam phasing or VVEL. I'm sure on the bigger engine with better flowing heads it will make a world of a difference.

kevin1985912 10-10-2010 11:05 PM

number wise? are we talking about more than 50whp?
