Hks Twin Turbo kit Prototype.

I spoke to one of the main guys at HKS today. The prototype kit is done and it made 460+whp. I will get more pictures and details on the kit later today at SPOCOM and they will have the HKS 370z there

The only update I got so far is that they are running ball bearing GT series turbos and twin front mount intercoolers.

I'm excited to see how the final production will look and what type of numbers it will make.

Stay tuned

Hey, just because it felt good once already does not mean I want to try other kits.

Well if you go TT I want to buy your GTM kit. Hell, I don't really need to buy it... I can just swing by Baker Tuning and dig it out of the trash. :icon18:

JB-370z 07-18-2010 11:06 AM

My guess would be they have a new turbo exhaust comming along with this kit

Do I hear upgrade in your exhaust future?

JB-370z 07-18-2010 11:12 AM

It depends on how this thing looks and sounds. I kinda want to try to do a custom turbo exhaust with a Y pipe. The GTR does it why not 370. It seems guys with Y pipes have a much better sounding exhaust.

Yeah, I think it has to do with the X or H pipe setups and that hiss that seems to be generated.

Depending on the price for this... I think might have just been swayed away from a 135i

Cause Im literally that guy that will drive a completely gutted car thats rough as hell and slammed but I need navi to be happy. I think Nissan really ****** up by making buyers pay 8k msrp to have nav...

ya I would shell out the 50k they will want for that IF they werent using the same I6tt n55 with a factory tune, some suspension, and flared fenders.... for less money I would get the the car and add JB3, CBE, DCI(intakes), AR downpipes, active autowerke intercooler, wheels, KW V3 coils, H&R sways, bbk, and some body work to MY specs. I would have a 440whp car that handles and looked cool and still have money in my pocket lol.

Jamaica 07-19-2010 03:17 AM

That's the perfect car. I was at spocom. This guy spent 100k on his 135I but it was a total frame off. Evey nut and bolt was replaced. I saw one for 24k and was thinking about it until the m1 comes out later this year or a older m3

Yeah thats my thing is if I had the choice of an m1 or a used m3. I would jump all over the M3 its so goddamn nice. Although a JB3 135 would blow the ******* doors off it I just feel the M3 is in a whole different league.

Windex_ 07-19-2010 04:04 AM

was it the berk technology 135? or was it an independent owner?

Vegasboricua 07-19-2010 04:39 AM

Yes its an 135. Mike Bonnani drives it. He's on the forums.

Jamaica 07-19-2010 12:51 PM

No not berks it was a black 135i.

JB-370z 07-20-2010 09:56 AM

Anymore info on this? Really more interested in the numbers. Made it sound like there are two seperate intercoolers...

LateralG'z 07-20-2010 07:51 PM

Please update, I am very interested

LOU@AMPLIFIED 07-21-2010 02:31 AM

SORRY for the delay guys. SPOCOM kicked my a$$ literally. Its tough to arrange, prepare and basically get 4 cars show ready in one week.

Here's what i got so far from HKS

GT-RS twin ball bearing turbos
Trim is 52-T
A/R is .064
internal wastegates
cast manifold used, same as the VQHR motor form the 07 350z
Twin intercoolers yes JB LOL
R35 INJECTORS
Upgraded oil pan
hks stainless steel oil lines
Tuned with the F-CON PRO
464WHP

Basically, its the same setup kit that they sold for the 07 370z.
IC PIPES, INTAKE and INTERCOOLER was all prototyped in house on the HKS 370Z. They are trying to figure out if they will sell the kit as a SET UP kit or as a complete kit. It will boil down to the pricing. If its too expensive, they won't release it. I will link this thread to the Main R&D guy i know at HKS so if there is enough interest, they will make the full kit

Here's some pictures

nixxer 07-21-2010 04:45 AM

/interested :yum: stock exhaust or were they using their own?

LateralG'z 07-21-2010 05:46 AM

Definitely not stock exhaust, to small

LiquidZ 07-21-2010 07:20 AM

Build it! If HKS made an FI kit, I would definitely consider it. I just hope they make a full kit and not the setup.

On a similar note, they should also consider a supercharger kit.

Jamaica 07-21-2010 01:00 PM

interesting

JB-370z 07-21-2010 01:19 PM

I am the biggest HKS fan and I am not impressed one bit. I still need more info before I truely mean that but from what I see, I am not impressed:(
