That install looks SINISTER - good job

I still have no idea where the MAF sensors are. Can I get a clue?

I was really hoping to get a shot of this on the black 370 but we're trying really hard to get ready for the Customer Appreciation day this Saturday and I missed my opportunity. Hopefully I'll be able to get one once everything slows down a bit.

are the people who have 93 octane avil going to be able to get the tunes for 93?

This is definitely on the "to do" list but right now we're not able to give an exact ETA.

The intake location is very similar to the Gen 3's. It basically comes in through the core support. Then there is a cast aluminum intake Y-pipe that houses the MAF sensors and filters. It is mounted in front of the radiator.

EDIT: Actually that won't work for me at all

Do you supply a plug and play harness, or do you have to cut the factory harness and extend it?

oh and its about time to see it on a Z ;)

Zsteve 05-05-2010 10:32 PM

how much belt coverage do you have on the SC?

1slow370 05-06-2010 04:13 AM

It looks good. there are just acouple of things i would have done differently, relocate the pump to pull from the reservoir and push the coolant through the intercooler, heatexchanger then back to the reservoir. This would effectively reverse the flow direction compared to what you have, as right now if someone were to put ice or some kind of supercooler in the reservoir it wouldn't be as effective as it would actually get warmed up passing through the front heat exchanger before it reached the intercooler. and i would have used a larger reservoir without the pressure cap that could fill the gap between the new manifold and where the reservoir is right now to increase the heat capacity of the system and make adding ice a breeze as well as improving the aesthetics.

I know I'd get flamed for this but who here has done this mod to their Z? Is the kit all I need for the modification (as in, will I encounter any problems such as blown engine or gearbox due to the ~500hp)? I'd like to do this to a stock Z in probably a year's time if the project seems worthwhile. Probably add an oil cooler as well.

RCZ 05-07-2010 09:04 AM

You're most likely going to need a clutch to go along with your install.

shumby 05-07-2010 10:11 AM

Like RCZ said clutch, and oil cooler if you are a 6MT man or a valve body upgrade, oil cooler and tranny cooler if you are a 7AT man.

Scott @ RA 05-07-2010 12:44 PM

Good work, guys (Stillen)

Kyle, I just talked to Steve and then to Sam about this kit the other week. Cool. Can't wait to be one of the first shops (besides you guys) to install this SC kit. :)
It is nice to have other FI options available for the Z34 now.

Too bad I probably won't be able to make this years open house (other priorities :() But there should be a few of my local San Diego customers there to represent at least. Tell Sean and Kenny (my sales reps there) hello for me....

To the rest of you who are going to the open house.... Stillen always has a pretty decent turn out at these things..... Have fun guys :)

RCZ 05-07-2010 01:20 PM

Haha I don't hold grudges, I just add to ignore list until I forget why I was mad and then all is good again. We all say dumb things at one time or another. Funny reaction though.

Back to Stillen SC thread.
