We have the CARB Test Letter in hand! This means that CARB has approved the components in the kit and they have everything they need with the exception of final emissions testing. We are *this* close to getting approval.

Sam

Good to know. Looking in one of your earlier posts; I guess you will "hopping" to it!!:bowrofl:

Is the individual induction displayed in your avatar available for a 2009 370Z?

It's California. I think CARB probably only works 2 days a week due to the budget crisis. I am sure no one is more eager than GTM to offer a CARB kit since their competitor already does.

As someone who has run a small business, I know exactly what they have done. CARB approval has been a low priority. By promising they will complete it, they have protected some sales that would have went to their competitor.

As to blaiming the CARB process, that was a fine excuse a year ago. We are now 2 years in and Jerry Brown cut those limited furlough days over a year ago.

Sam can correct my guess if I'm wrong, but here it is.

1. The process was more difficult than expected
2. When GTM needed to provide more documentation or change a part, they put their other workload ahead of this effort.
3. They decided to have the system tested on the heaviest 3.7L car, the M37, so they could have all 3.7L cars certified in 1 shot. This delayed the process considerably.

Still no news on the CARB approval...

Has this endeavor been completely scrapped?

It makes me a little sad that they avoid every public question about it. :shakes head: I received no commitment in PM conversations either. What more can be said except this is vaporware.

newZguy 08-08-2012 07:33 PM

hmmm can we get an update on this?

Agreed, can we?

They should atleast make some kind of statement at this point...

SAM@GTM 01-24-2013 01:48 PM

Well, not to make excuses, but there have been a few things that have happened that are beyond our control. They aren't bad things, in fact they're quite good, but it has delayed finishing this particular goal. We do apologize for the delay in getting this done as we know there are a few people that are waiting for us to get CARB certified.

darli328 01-24-2013 04:03 PM

Thanks for the update, maybe it's just me but I think there would be plenty of people (myself included) in the market for a carb legal GTM supercharger kit.

In Seattle? Just so you know, I'm from Seattle and there is no need to have CARB anything on your car there. Our kit as it is currently would be perfectly fine. Heck, you could even go with our Twin Turbo Kit, 3" downpipes with open wastegate dumps, totally cat-less and pass King and Snohomish county's OBDII scan and get your tags. Piece of cake.

Really, the only people that need CARB approved parts are people that live in the People's Republic of California. If you live anywhere outside of the Golden State, CARB is completely and totally irrelevant.
