Lost sale - spent it on wood working equipment since no CARB cert kit is ready yet.

Something tells me Sam is ok with that considering (not to be rude) you would be a pain in the a$$

Sam is ok with it because he obviously prioritized other projects over getting this kit through carb certification. And/or he feels that he gets enough sales to people who care about having it certified by saying it is pending.

Getting CARB certification takes time, do you even realize there are legislative hurdles that must be passed in order to get the certification? Knowing how ineffective, slow and convoluted the government is, it is no surprise it takes time.

how many of these kits are out there as of current time?

damn you get offended easily. not good for someone wanting to spend time on the internet.

relax bro relax your heart is gonna burst!

but your entire arguement isnt invalid. but nor is it really valid.

Carb approval is a process that is quite involved. GTM does have alot of projects going so sure they could drop everything and get carb approval or perhaps also just divide their time with everything and have every project going. I think they are doing pretty good so far.

Are they screwing over thousands of potential customers, no. Do you feel like you are being screwed... yes. Can you just up and go buy another carb approved FI system? no. Does that mean they can laugh at you in your agony.. no.

basically its not right to come out and beat up on GTM because of this. They are in the end a business and need to take care of business first. If carb approval S/C's got them alot of business im sure they would have spent alot of time on it. But if they let their entire business tank to work on this, in the end as soon as they get CARB approval, they would have to file bankruptcy and then whats the point?

We as customers need to always be patient. I dont want any company to rush their products or development etc. When you see that, you see crappy products or products that are only partial to what they could have been.

Also, ever try picking up the phone, calling GTM and asking them whats up? i mean ya know, I understand that theres the forums, facebook, twitter, etc etc etc but calling people is still the most effective communication tool (other than meeting face to face)

You aren't a business person are you? I know exactly what Sam is doing and that is putting his energy where he feels the most profit is. This is smart business. This is EXACTLY the place people need to speak up so Sam knows that maybe the market for CARB legal kit is bigger than he thought and just maybe he'll prioritize some time to serving that market.

In the software world we call this FUD. 1 year ago the Stillen kit was a strong potential competitor and they were advertising that they would get CARB certified. Sam didn't want to give Stillen that competitive advantage in the largest market for sales and said they too would get certified. Sam even posted later that GTM would have their certification first. Well the Stillen kit turned out to be a weak competitor and it appears to me that CARB certification at GTM is on the back burner.

If you guys understand that Sam has tons and tons and tons of work. Takes time and patience. IF you dont want to wait move on, if you do congrats. Most members dont even have a clue what actually going into a serious build and expect it overnight. It takes alot of trial and error. There is others cars besides the z is he working on. Yes carb legal kit will help out, in cali doesnt make a difference to to most people.

This is real simple. Sam made a post in this thread over a year ago that they were going for CARB cert. If they never said that or if they just make a post saying "hey, this is really really low priority for us, don't expect it anytime soon", then these last few posts don't even happen.

Everyone with a brain knows Sam is busy. I never disputed that. If you take a reread over what I posted, you'll realize that.

Lastly, 1 in 9 people in the US live in California. It is not like 1 out of 50 which is the mindset people seem to take. There is no more important single market for import parts in the US.

This could go 5 pages with the exact same thing, so I'll just leave it at this.. Sam, could you update your post on page 1 in reference to CARB certification? Thanks.
