I don't believe in the break in period. Don't flame.

Example, my last Z went through break in period and had a new engine put in at 1900 miles. I never reached 7000 RPM's once.

The way cars are built now and tested, I don't see the point. Each to his own.

Oh no flame here, when it comes to that, I'm not an expert, I'd just heard it and thought it was true...

FuszNissan 03-09-2010 03:46 PM

It's recommended, just like Ester Oil.

I bet you've heard a lot of other stuff, too, huh? Do you think that's all true? I bet you think the unicorn blood is real, right? Don't you? Well it is. But other things, yeah, other things aren't quite so true.

This thread isn't a place for legitimate ideas.

Yeah I know. I looked at his avatar and thought I could have fun with him, but I think I hurt his feelings. :bowrofl:

FuszNissan 03-09-2010 04:04 PM

He has thick skin. On a serious note, dyno chart and vids should be up tomorrow. I guess we shall see.

XwChriswX 03-09-2010 04:05 PM

Naa, it's cool, the phones just starts ringing off the hook right about now with everyone wanting to confirm the flying schedules for tomorrow.

Kastley85891 03-09-2010 04:25 PM

Lou - apologies if I missed this, what is your new oil capacity and what are you running?

FuszNissan 03-09-2010 04:39 PM

No Dyno Sheet yet.
Not sure on the oil capacity. Oil cooler and pan spacer has been added, if that is what your after.

We are dyno'd at 470RWHP

BlackCherryZ 03-09-2010 04:51 PM

470 RWHP with high mid torque would be nice......

well, would you even be able to tell the 30RWHP difference? it is all relative, right?

i guess.........other than the bragging right...... technically, 500RWHP is about 610BHP......

300 vs 330 RWHP would be significant, but 470 vs 500, hmmmmmmmmm.........

anyhow, i hope they drop the price on TT kits......... let the price competition began.......

$hit, when would i get a TT kit............hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

hopefully within a couple of months...........

well, LOU, have fun with your new crazy beast.........and do let us know...............

But the break-in limit is 5000 RPMs :stirthepot:

FuszNissan 03-09-2010 05:08 PM

You know what I mean. I never went over 4500 RMP's for the first 1400 miles. Then I never even hit 7000 RPM's when the engine finally died. So I don't believe either way is a win win for issues not to arise. Why am I explaining this to you steve...lol

Hey

Yep saw the cooler and spacer , so was wondering you new capacity with all the new goodies. One more, with the twin turbos now using the oil along with engine has there been any recommendations regarding frequency of change out? still 5W 30 Ect ect?

:bowrofl::bowrofl:

Shìt, man, as soon as I hit 1185 miles, the Z went to 7500 RPM, lol. Now I know why your engine died, the ECU was confused, thought it was installed in a Versa

370zdub 03-09-2010 05:18 PM

I'm not a break in period believer either Fusz, the harder you break em in the harder they run.

FuszNissan 03-10-2010 10:42 AM

It's sad the system has came to this^^
I remeber if you were out of line in school your tecaher would smack the shit out of you. Or if you said something smart to a kid you got your ass kicked. Now kids get away with stupid shit and people are afraid of getting sued. I miss the good old days.

i had thought the second kit would have more rwhp or mid range torque....

:woot: Jon always comes thru!

Kastley85891 03-10-2010 05:33 PM

Builds boost pretty quick, great TRQ curve and great peak power, that will be a sick street car

3SeventyZ 03-10-2010 06:08 PM

Awesome!

vipor 03-10-2010 06:14 PM

It's still just "virtual" until Friday. :stirthepot:

RCZ 03-10-2010 06:15 PM

Awesome build guys, glad to see it complete, congratulations Lou!

Hoping I can hit the same power on my race SC setup!

Also I'm doing the same thing for gauges, how hard was it to modify the cluster??

I think a nice write up on this would be great as many here are looking into this.

Clint@Altered 03-10-2010 07:19 PM

^ I think I could handle a write-up on the cluster install. And yes - it was a PITA. IIRC, just about the entire dash needs to be removed.

On another note, THANK YOU LOU for giving us the opportunity (and being awesomely patient!) to build your TT 370Z. :)

The car spools so fast on the street - even with turbos the great power band and drivability of the 370 was not sacrificed, its just been bumped by a couple hundred horsepower, lol. Simply put the car move the **** out!
