Trusting that the pistons are really 10:1 like I ordered and not 9:1 standard cuts or OEM 11:1. In cases like this Trust but verify is a bit awkward and I've heard the stories , but for myself I'll have faith until my faith is demonstrated to be bad judgement.

They actually shipped my closed block with added crank and set of heads earlier this week. Not sure why they are holding your engine off for 8 weeks that is more than ridiculous.

I understand your logic. It really does come down to trust that a shop will hold their word to what you purchase.

However, because I ordered a Stage IV, I believe that had a big hand in an incentive to treat the custom built engine (IPP) to the utmost highest. Their name stands behind it, and I am sure they get very few orders of Stage IV's compared to the Stages 1 - 3.

An example is that when he had a core, they said that the core they got had damage to the crank -- and he would not use any core less than 100% for rebuilding the spec 4 block.

I thought to myself -- Does that mean they skimp out on their work usually?
Oh wait, of course. They are a business, every business will take the opportunity and consider skimping out on quality of work and pieces if they can. But I see it as because I ordered a stage 4, they are treating it like an engine of their own and not just "any other customers' order"

But yeah.
It was shipped to Texas 2 days ago and hopefully will arrive tomorrow or this coming Friday at the very latest.

It was shipped to Texas 2 days ago and hopefully will arrive tomorrow or this coming Friday at the very latest.

I get ya with the bespoke treatment for the stage 4, but keep in mind I know someone here in Orlando that had the same timeline as me with a stage 4. He got his already and so far I have'nt heard any problems. I just went with the stage 2 and added 10:1 pistons and Cosworth head gaskets. My aim is 700rwhp and done.

Lol !! Nooooooo I was refering to being a bit shook when you said RJM told you they had 5 IPP blocks that were blown. I thought about getting a closed deck early on but I would've probably went with one of theirs if that was the case. I took a bit of inspiration from Diabels build except I went with a 6466 and don['t have an itch to run ethanol. If I went closed block I would've probably went with the 6780 and E85 and more interested in touching on 800rwhp. My focus now is to hurry up and get this done so I can flip a coin on doing a DPF delete on my Titan XD.

xD! Gotcha. Well I decided to go with the RJM block and send it to IPP to assemble and machine a Spec IV IPP block.
I really hope it will last longer than I think it will, and it will serve me very well.

Update on it:
- Kyle from IPP received the closed deck short bare block + added crank and set of heads.

- I sent it to the office building of IPP rather than directly to the machine shop lol so a couple days delayed it from being started on. I suspect they will start the assembly and machine work for it this coming week, hopefully finish it by Friday and have it shipped out to my area in CA by the following Friday or at the very least, Monday the 14th of May.

- ITS GETTING CLOSER AND IM SUPER EXCITED. I THINK THIS ENGINE IS A WASTE FOR THE SUPERCHARGER BUT OH WELL. AT LEAST A ROD WON'T GET BLOWN OUT AGAIN.

Bro I don't even want to call because if they told me two weeks it would be like watching paint dry for entertainment. I switched the delivery direct to my installer and I'm just waiting on them to call and say bring the car over.

The only difference between a stage 3 and 4 is the JWT **** and a 5 angle valve job versus 3. The only thing I see him doing differently is maybe using a tiny bit of lube when he screws you since you paid the extra $$$ haha. Seriously though, good luck with the build. If the motor does break don't bother sending it back to them, just get it looked at locally. No sense in paying to ship the motor across the country for a warranty that isn't honored in even the most obvious scenarios.

Also worth mentioning, when they shipped my motor back after denying warranty, it was sent on a busted pallet and the motor was upside down. He may have been a big deal back in the 90's, kinda like Uncle Rico was back in HS, but based on my experience and what I've read here I think those days are long gone.

That's why I went with the stage 2 and just upgraded the ARP stuff and the head gasket. What went wrong on yours and what were your initial thoughts before things went left?

Issue with the valve guides, I didnt get to enjoy it what so ever because it grenaded itself before the break in period was over. It's getting fixed now though by a shop here in Denver. For less than mr. Puckett quoted me to fix his own faulty motor. My advice to anyone considering going there for motors is dont do it unless you can afford to do it twice. In a year.

Welp folks.
I'm already 6 feet deep in with IPP, I can only hope for the best.
They are already starting to work on the assembly and machine work since this past Monday (Yesterday).

He said it would all be done within 2 weeks time (By May 21st) I would assume, but hopefully it would be done by Friday, May 18 and then shipped out that weekend.

His IPP name and reputation is on the line with this engine just as it is with any other engine he ships out and builds.
But at the same time, I told him that I have a lot of people following my build (Thank you everyone!) and if it turns out well, and no issues -- then that can only look good for him.

So hopefully he takes very good care of the engine during the building, shipping and machining process -- and that no issues arise!

I will definitely post videos and pictures of the engine before it goes in, after, and when it's running, etc.

Stay posted people!!
It will either be a healthy monster of an engine, or an unhealthy exploding engine...haha.

Remember, the core used for this was:
- RJM Closed Deck Short Bare Block
- Added VQ37HR Crank
- Clean set of heads by RJM

I chose closed deck because Kyle's shop does not build their engines closed -- only open. As soon as I learned that, I resorted to finding a closed deck ASAP and RJM was my solution.
I didn't want blown head gaskets at 700 rwhp with the open block like a lot of others have warned me about so I decided...closed.

So it seems that with what we have coming there will be a lot to report. Cupcake your build and mine are definitely in the building at the same time. If we both have problems then it's consistent. I hope it's consistently good.

When is your engine going to be done by IPP?

I was told 10-12 weeks the March 8th. I haven't called I want to see when they call me but I'll start getting antsy here in two weeks. Kinda sucks because I can't get a hard date to do the install and the shop I'm using is always packed but they're trying to help me out by staying fluid.
