No I’m not .... I wanted to see the final specs before buying ... had they released the specs first I would have been... I did call Jackson racing and talked to them about it ... they said that the c38r will have 30% more output over the c38 throughout the rpm range ... all good news to hear lol

The c38r was suppose to start shipping in Apr. Did anyone purchase one to test?

R3drckt09 05-30-2018 01:41 PM

I wanted to but it wasn’t quite the right time for me. I called Jackson Racing this morning and they said the pre order is closed but those units will ship in June, and then more will be available for purchase in July

Is it possible to put a rotrex supercharger and an FI twin turbo in the same vehicle?
I think that would be crazy if it lasted!

I'd do that too....just to see how it feels!!!

This is a chart on impeller speed calculation...last time I talked to rotrex they confirmed the calculation as well .....and that is why GTM wouldn’t sell a pulley under 86mm

The 84mm is at 91280 at 7k rpm......a 80 mm would put you over 100k ...
Also TOPGUN is correct ..if you blow the supercharger you could damage much more than just the bottom end .. we all take that risk when boosting but ....I wouldn’t go that far over specs on a blower

I might be reading the charts wrong soooo ......im still not sure

It's my chart and you are reading it correct.

Hi All,

I just recieved My C38R unit. Will be replacing the C38-81 on my GTM Stage 1.5 kit in February.

Currently I'm doing 450whp and 380lbft at 10PSI. Will update with results once the system is running.

a few points:
1) The inlet is 3.5" as compared to 2.5' for the C38-81
2) From my calculations current C38-81 is drawing 80+ HP at peak (85mm pulley)
3) If you were to run the C38R at peak rpm it will draw up to 130hp. This will affect the pulley system requirements. currently my system is running 8PK instead of the
stock 7pk. Still, it barely meets the needs of 130hp. i believe 10pk would be needed to maintain the same belt change interval.
4) The C38R (7:1) has a different gear ratio as compared to the C38-81 (6:1) ratio so the pulley size will definitely change.
5) Because of the pressure ratio (assuming rest of the system is the same) IAT will increase by about 25degC so upgrading IC might be unavoidable.

Thanks all

I’m stoked someone actually got one, I was starting to wonder if these were ever gonna ship! I didn’t realize the inlet was larger though, I’m guessing you’ll have to get a new intake tube?

Will have to custom the intake tube.

Good to hear there actually getting out to customers, have they said when there gona be available for anyone to purchase?I’ve been waiting on info for awhile as iam thinking about upgrading my rotrex on my gtm stage 2 kit.

What was the final cost if you don’t mind me asking? I believe the c38-91 that is on my car is already 3” inlet.

Keep me posted thanks

The gtm stage 2 kit has a 3 inch pipe with a 4 inch velocity stack
