There will definitely be some cosmetic tweaks to what you're seeing here. It doesn't have the be the prettiest on our test mule.. just needs to work. :)

Yes, we'll match the silicone colors..

You guys like pink right? Ok good..

I hear ya, just trying to help you get it right considering the stuff Kyle touched on for the VQ35 kit. I mean well...

G37Sam 02-24-2010 04:48 PM

IMO, let's get that thing tuned and running 100% then we'll worry about cosmetics :p

Unless of course a pink housing would add a few ponies lol

Oh no.. I'm sorry.. appreciate the thoughts and ideas.. I was just being not-so-funny with my pink comment, while letting you know we agree and the silicone should be a single color.

Just wanted to point out that it's still the prototype.. it will be a bit cleaner.. but we love hearing everyones ideas..

Kyle@STILLEN 02-24-2010 05:21 PM

We definitely appreciate the input!

In regards to the supercharger finish, keep in mind that our prototype that we're testing with is the polished version of the blower. There is a less expensive option which will be the raw cast aluminum finish. I don't know yet what the pricing difference will be but aesthetically it could change some things.

Right now we're kind of in "make it work" mode not so much, make it pretty.

Haha just messing

Oh jeez!

Sam, you never let me down with your remarks!!! LOL

StillenZ 02-24-2010 06:07 PM

I am definitely offended Kyle.. I have been pressuring the **** out of you guys for a while now and I don't plan on stopping... I guess I'm taking my business elsewhere!!! lol... but seriously, thanks for humoring us with the late February (2010) comment...

On a more serious note: are you taking orders for the custom twin screw supercharger that I believe one of you mentioned would be way easier?!!?!?!?!? I want a new CF hood so....do I make an appointment or what?! lol..

Well, one more day down.. That much closer to the end of February, beginning of March... I'm foaming at the mouth

RCZ 02-24-2010 06:22 PM

^ I am so confused.

Have you finally gone completely insane waiting for this kit?

StillenZ 02-24-2010 06:36 PM

insanity might be close lol... I re-read it and maybe its a bad thing that it makes sense to me??

The first paragraph was a comment that started in the past couple days when someone mentioned that it was never stated as to what year it would be released... then Kyle earlier today made it clear that he was talking about 2010 and I chuckled so I thought it was worth mentioning (probably not though lol, thanks for pointing that out) and also it was about Kyle offending me with his paragraph that was prefaced with

Again, I really hope that no one was offended by what I just wrote and I hope no one thinks that we're upset at all by any of your questions or comments.

in a later statement.

The second paragraph may have been my misunderstanding ... I thought he was talking about a twin screw set up which from what I have read sounds amazing, but I'm a newb..

If we went with the top mount supercharger we could have simply designed a hammerhead looking rear intake tube, retained the factory throttle body position, and designed a cast aluminum intake manifold with intercooler built in

I think that last paragraph is pretty self explanatory...I'm not literally foaming at the mouth (yet), but very close...

Sorry for taking up so much space and posting so much.. I hope this clears things up a little... but to summarize it all.. I am pumped! Thanks

edit: I hope I made it clear that I'm not really offended at all... I know this internet can make things hard to interpret at times and so can my sarcastic *** way of typing..

RCZ 02-24-2010 06:55 PM

three deep breaths, woozaaa.
"I will not check stillens sc thread 35 times a day like RCZ does"

Repeat.

Makes sense to me StillenZ, so at least you got someone with you on that crazy bus. I'm sure if you have the cash for CUSTOM work stillen would be more then happy to work with you when they have time.

Hearing that you will offer a raw aluminum finish is good news. I was thinking of possibly doing some sort of wrinkle finish on the manifold. Well, it sounds right in my head at least...

Kyle@STILLEN 02-24-2010 08:14 PM

The wrinkle finish would look pretty cool! I think that we will actually be doing a wrinkle finish, although I'm not sure on that. It's funny because wrinkle finish looks really good on the manifolds but smooth black powder coat looks really good on the charge pipe where a wrinkle black would look too industrial in my opinion...Kind of odd how those two different finishes on two different components right next to each other can look so good.
