In doing so he is also making 15psi to get there on the water setup. How long is that motor going to last? Put a filter on there and it will drop to 9 or 10 psi and make around 450. The 378 tq is kinda low and that would drop to the 320's.

Im not trying to bash it, just dont want to see others think that is a good idea. Not worth it.

For what its worth...if you want to run filter-less on the A2A kit it will make over 600whp.

The customer is planing on running a turbo gaurd as they were three to four weeks behind when he contacted them to get one.

Is it a track car only then? Turbo guards protect just that, the turbo, they do nothing for keeping dust and other small debris out of the engine bay. My friend ran one and after a summer we pulled the intake off and you could wipe dirt off the sidewalls with your finger.

I would think this coats the intercooler fins internally also, decreasing efficiency.

Why not do an A2A and make that kind of power WITH a filter? He already lost CARB cert anyway. Plus he would pick up some torque and he could upgrade and make even more.

Hey guys very. Interesting debate going on weather using an air filter or not is worth the gains verses damage to the engine.
But you mind not thread jacking me.

TopgunZ 11-02-2016 11:32 AM

Sorry, The FI section has just been so dead lately...lol.

Ok, almost done with the build for now. I just received the last piece of hardware, my custom A pillar pod made by Jason Gale@3Gcustoms for my A/F and boost gauge. I am going with the AEM fail-safe A/F and boost gauge in one. Tuning will go faster now that I don't have to have someone riding along and watching the A/F ratio on my laptop to make sure I don't hurt the motor. It will be nice to see what my boost numbers look like also.
Galeforce does great work looks factory but nicer!

Nice, don't forget the sheet when dyno is done. really want to see what the out comes.

TopgunZ 11-03-2016 03:35 PM

You were going to go less aggressive at first correct? Didn't you go back to the stock pulley setup for now and then down the road you were going to put the setup I had on, on?

wideglideleon 11-03-2016 11:35 PM

Yes using stock pullies until I can have the A7 built by level 10 to handle the torque.
Next year built trans, pulley swap and E85.
😀

I know I haven't posted my results yet but their is a good reason.

I dislocated and broke my ankle BOTH bones in late November. I had to have a plate and 9 screws put in it to hold it all together till it heals. I am now able to walk with out crutches but still wearing one of those HUGE walking boots you pump up. Hopefully in 3 to 4 weeks I'll be able to drive my baby again and I'll get her on the dyno and post results.

Updates, car has been running awesome very conservative tune since I have a stock 7at.
Well Pat at level 10 is building me a bullet proof trans rated at 1000hp. While the trans is out I'll be installing the 9lb pulley.
Should be an even more fun daily for me.
Looks like I'll need to be saving up for tires and lawyers for the tickets.

The combo of a quality radar detector and laser jammers have kept me ticket free since boosting =)

Did you get the 928motorsports super vortech premium upgrade? That would go well with the pulley swaps :D

What is your solution to prevent belt slip?

wideglideleon 04-08-2018 12:26 PM

cupcakes, no I Have not done the 928 upgrade i have the vortech SI impeller, that and the 9Lb pulley should be more then enough for a fairly reliable daily ride. Cant wait to get my Transmission back.
