Nik was this a rolling start or from a stop? The reason I ask is a member of the forum did 162 from a rolling start this fall.

I will say that Soho car is quick... we ran at the forged performance airstrip event which is less than a 1/3rd mile and they were hitting a solid 135-140mph! I had fun running against you guys and look forward to wanna go fast! now for me to have my ecutek TC so we can have an even run ;) that and I will stay at waste gate pressure :D
|
What bullitt said...I loved watching you guys run and I wished we could have made a run together but we were out of sequence. I enjoyed talking to you guys and I'm looking forward to your progress on your build.

*Update*
We participated in the WannaGoFast event in september in Georgia and have recently increased the boost as we are running around 14.5 psi on the stock block putting us very close to 700 rwhp! :) (We are trying to push the envelope and see where the breaking point is on the stock block) Here are a few photos from the event along with a video as the best speed that we could do was 155.38 mph after four attempts. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psm4uxdo3p.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psj5yndgr1.jpg *According to Tony at Fast Intentions this currently is the standing half mile record* After the half mile event, we focused heavily on breaking the quarter mile record at Darlington Dragway. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0vuyzklb.jpg We broke the 6MT Record, but not the overall record, after our second visit to Darlington Dragway ever with this car :) http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psoqbpazfp.jpg We were not completely satisfied until we broke the overall record that CyCy had at a 10.91 at 130 mph, so we went back to Darlington this past weekend. AND WE BROKE IT! http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psrdiukymc.jpg We were very surprised that the stock axles were able to take a 1.60 60 ft! Once again we are not done as we plan on putting a set of true slicks on this vehicle and attempting to go even lower into the 10s. Stay Tuned. |

The video that shows the journey of breaking the overall record and some in car:)

This past weekend we went to Darlington dragway to lower the quarter mile record that we had set late last year after making a few changes in regards to power and suspension. With our first run off the trailer we were able to better our mph by 2 mph from our record time but had alot of wheel spin. We made some suspensions changes to reduce the wheel spin and went out again for our second attempt. We knew it was going to be a good run as it was one of the best burnouts we had done in the vehicle, car launched annnnnnnnnnnnndddd the passenger side axle broke.
http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3u6n9jzk.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...sp2axwdxu.jpeg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psagvhuunn.jpg We knew that this was going to be one of the last times that we were going to go out on the stock block and attempt to lower the 1/4 mile time that we had set back in the later part of last year. *Nonetheless, we cannot be disappointed as this vehicle has seen a lot of abuse including three half miles events, 30+ dragstrip passes, 100+ dyno pulls, almost a year at 700 wheel horsepower and this was the first thing to break! *Now it's time to focus our attention on the build that we plan to premier at ZDAYZ - 1000+ wheel horsepower and 9 second 1/4 mile capable (possibly lower)....stay tuned as version two of this car is going to be absolutely bananas! |
Man, of all the things to go at 700hp the axle goes first, I'd say that was the best possible outcome. Cant wait to see what you guys have up your sleeves!

***UPDATE***
After breaking the axle, we had around two and half months to prepare for Zdayz... and we decided that we were not going to rebuild the motor and focus primarily on removing weight and adding aero to the nismo. Since we were going to be using this car primarily for 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile events, we decided that an NHRA certified roll cage, parachute, smaller rear wheel coupled with a larger tire and less weight were going to be the main things to focus on. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pszmvwxrbr.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psvborxoeb.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5pzoj6ck.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pso2kslviz.jpg Next up, was removing the rear nismo spoiler and incoporating a drag spoiler along with the stroud chute and mount. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psdyj1tl3p.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...ps0k6gto5u.jpg The akebono rear calipers had to be removed and base nissan 350Z brake calipers were used to allow the 15 x 11 Belak Industries wheel to fit. http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psqfbwdzj9.jpg The rear bumper was modified to help reduce any drag that could potentially occur and the rear section of the fast intentions exhaust was removed and turn downs were made! :) http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psofcnvr4i.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pszxoy5qyw.jpg We were able to purchase another stock axle to get the nismo going as the vendor that we are talking to for aftermarket axles was unable to have them completed by Zdayz...but stay tuned as we are working on providing aftermarket axles at an affordable price :) http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pslq85rzcx.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psvq1smwzu.jpg Zdayz was the first time that anybody had seen the new setup and we received a number of compliments about it, but our biggest test would be at the half mile event on sunday. At first we were concerned as rain was in the forecast but that was not the case when we arrived as it was cloudy and cooler. We left Zdayz late saturday afternoon to come back and prepare for the Wannagofast event which included swapping the slicks out for ET street radials... http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psmzv74hfy.jpg First pass off the trailer on our high boost setting (13 psi) we hit 155.25 mph, which was a good sign as we had hit that same mph with our GTR kill boost setting (15 psi) in Georgia! :) http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psihcnvn4x.jpg The car consistently ran a 155 pass after pass on our high boost setting, we made a few changes to tire pressures and looked over the tune and went out on our GTR kill boost setting and clocked in a 156.35 mph! Resetting the record of the 155 that we had set back in 2016! http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pswynegyo1.jpg *We also got to test the chute and meet Gidi* :) http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psbn1x2m0m.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...psli7mnkoi.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...ps5mao8suz.jpg Next up on the agenda is we wait for the prototype axles to be made and a few other drivetrain goodies we are testing and we are going to go back out on the stock motor and attempt to lower on times significantly! Stay tuned! |
Seen the Z at ZDayZ, and it looked beastly.
|
That's a great update! Just goes to show with the right supporting mods and a great tune, the VQ can be a beast. So I guess this means 600hp is the new safe* mark :stirthepot:

nice build, how much does the car weigh?

**Update**
We had been working with another vendor for the past three months trying to get axles made that were going to be less in price then the DSS and offer different levels, unfortunately that vendor was not able to meet our deadlines... Since Dynosty now is building a Drag nismo as well, we had Logan contact his representative at Driveshaft shop to get us a set of the level five axles within a week and to also respark the interest that an 800 hp axle package may be beneficial to the Z community. Street car takeover is happening this weekend at zMAX, which is right down the street from us so we had to capitalize on the opportunity. Here are a few photos of the axles and stay tuned for updates from this weekend! http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...ps3jmtmasx.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pspgar5fax.jpg http://i1112.photobucket.com/albums/...pszazuzsoo.jpg |

800hp axles for everyone! I hope they go through with it. 800hp is realistically the cap of like 80%Of the community. Good stuff man. Good luck this weekend.

Could I ask what your rear brake setup is to fit under the drag wheels?

Ouch, Is that a wrist pin keeper? So a piston let go, hard to tell with all those pieces. LOL
|
ohhh... I'd say you definitely got your money's worth out of that motor! Whats next?
|
Motor got the munchies and started to eat it's self. For your torque level. You got a lot out of that motor.
