Tiller have you upgraded to the 85mm yet
|
So if I want to stay around 10 psi, do I use the 88mm pulley from Gamma?

I was given this part number for OEM Spark plugs for GTR: NI-22401-JF01D NVM: Found it on Z1 |

I have an 84mm pulley from the Stage 1 kit but am not looking to over stress my internals . |

I purchased my 85mm from kraftwerks also, great prices. Jinxx has been running the 85mm with no issues , good fuel setup and tune and these motors can handle 12lbs all day long, I think 84mm pulley might over spin the rotrex unit. |

So I did my first drive after installing the Stage 1.5 upgrade...
Originally my BOV plumbed back with the stage 1 kit. Relatively quiet but fluttered under medium acceleration. Now, it vents to the atmosphere and is loud as hell, almost sounds like my wheezing grandma... for lack of a better description.. lol I have a turbosmart plumb back and also a synapse diverter valve. What are you guys running with what spring and how tightened down do you have the spring. Is it loud also when it blows off? I'm looking to quiet it down a bit... |
Kentmo, the turbosmart bpv gets loud when off throttle. There's no real way to quiet it down. It turns heads and can scare the crap out of people! The spring tightness does not really matter, at least did not feel any real difference. I try to keep at medium tightness most of the time. The biggest issue with turbosmart bpv I've had is that the piston inside gets dirty, dry and eventually gets stuck or leaking boost when full throttle. Even once a month cleaning and lubing did not help. So after my last track day and very leaky bpv I decided to try something different. It took me 6 months of waiting to finally receive the synapse diverter valve. I haven't gotten a chance to install it yet. Also haven't been driving the car due to winter so I am not in real rush plus need to cut off and weld on new flange for the synapse diverter valve.

I might get creative, fabricate a pipe and plumb the valve back into the intake. There is definitely room to run some 1.25" or 1.5" silicone /aluminum pipe from the valve to the intake. Weld on a 1.25"/1.5" flange to the intake. That would quiet things down considerably. Someone tell me why this should not be done. |

I found when my bov got dirty the sound changes to fluttering so I removed it and clean it, then its back to normal again. For my spring tension i usually tighten it just a turn or so past the rubber o-ring,not sure if it's right but it's been working fine for me, also the spring is the one that comes with the kit,I haven't replaced it. |
Trying to make sure I understand, does it sort of sound like a rattlesnake?
|
I use the turbosmart valve that came with the kit ... and tighten just a turn past the rubber o-ring ...very little if any flutter and then it's at a very low rpm if it does. I did have issues with it sticking for the first 10k miles but each time it did I took it apart for cleaning and re polished the brass piston now it seems to never stick anymore .... knock on wood ..as far as loudness ..... it is very loud and very noticeable .... if got want to make it quieter you could attach a hose from the bpvand route it further down the car ... but for me I love the sounds and loudness of it ...can't really hide the whine of the supercharge so with out the bpv sound it would just sound weird to me
