We tuned a car yesterday that got 450 whp and 381 lb of torque

blackonorange 12-15-2011 05:43 PM

Everything else stock?

Jamaica 12-15-2011 05:44 PM

Yup everything else was stock. With meth and a few upgrades over 500whp is achievable

blackonorange 12-15-2011 05:46 PM

What psi are you running and give me some details on these upgrades

I'm sure if you call them they would be willing to do something for you. At the same time I can't say for sure since I didn't install the kit myself. I know from the web page they say it's an easy install but I know that the guys that installed my cussed a lot. I'm sure it was due to the fact that there was no design form my version of the 370z.

it really doesnt look that hard to do, just like to be prepared before i get into it. Is anyone running the stock clutch and if so how is it holding up?

erkthejerk73 12-16-2011 10:24 AM

Jamaica what type of dyno do you have?

Mine is the AT7 tranny and as long as you keep the VDC off you should be fine. Don't know about the clutch, tho. The only time I use the VDC is when it rains and I also have a boost controller and I drop it to the 5psi setting. Still at 403hp at 5psi it will still get away from you if you gas it. The Nitto tires I have on my car suck in the rain but are hard tires so they seam to grab a little better.
I have got about 2000 miles so far on the turbo.

If I was at home I could tell you but we used the space were the navigation would of gone. Also good idea going with the ball bearing upgrade.
Did you gets your turbo coated? And did you go all out...innercooler, oil cooler, boost controller, etc. My total kit was $7800 plus another $2500 in gauges, labor and the methanol injection. The price can get away from you real quick but it is the best turbo for the money.

To each there own. There is only a few kits on the current market. GTM TT kit isnt bad but I prefer the Greddy over the GTM. Greddy has better parts IMO when dealing with both. STS is a good kit. The kit is making more power then Stage 1 SC and Stage 1 TT.

O&G 12-18-2011 06:17 PM

If your gunna compare kits make sure they are both running similar boost at the very least. To say one is making more power than the other is ........ So many variables from one build to another. IMO, best not to compare.

Jamaica 12-18-2011 06:21 PM

STS kit was on 7psi making 450who 381 torque. This was without meth injection on 91 octane.

We have another car were doing going to have the ball bearing turbo upgrade with meth.
Zach white a forum member also has the same setup. I am waiting to see his results.

Dynos, conditions, locations, exhaust diameter, gas, etc....... variables! What kind of dyno was this?
