I might eat my own words. With some further discussion taking place, I think we will offer complete tubing kits for gt/gtx28, and a set for gt/gtx30/35. Anyone using turbos other than that might have to modify the tubing to accommodate or build their own.
The tubing kits may or may not require our oil cooler kit to fit. The oil cooler system being built on my Z has been on pause until we get to the tubes for the turbo system to build it all to work together... Too early to tell. Will keep you guys updated as it progresses later. |
By looking at the design and placement of the turbo, it may be a chance to have this installed with the motor in?

I've been saying for years that I think everyone is nuts for pulling the engines out just to put turbo kits in! |

That's just me. Most shops wouldn't even consider doing it how I do and they rather dig in. |

now did you plan on doing a oem fitment on the FMIC? |
The intercooler will "bolt-up" to my car that we are building it on, but it will probably require all sorts of trimming of plastics for the piping and possible modifications to the core support, and its much too large to retain the "crash beam".

Hi Charles,
I don't come on this site much, so I've missed this thread. But I think I'll be here much more often now, as my350z.com does not much going on anymore. Top Notch Work as Always! TimRod |

Now I can think about nothing else but these manifolds, your currently available products and whatever parts yet to be revealed. Great job on these manifolds!:tiphat:

Any news on this?

He is working on reconstructing the driver side manifold to work without having to drastically modify the driver side engine mount. Once he gets that wrapped up we hope to post the final pricing and details. It got set on the back-burner again here for a long time but I just recently towed it over to his shop so he can finish it up. Hoping to see this come to light this season! |
Hey CJ! (This is Sammy, I emailed about the fuel upgrades earlier in the week)
Just curious if you're able to reupload the pictures in the OP. All but one is broken for me. Thanks! |

We are trying differences sizes and compressor covers right now seeing what will fit. Its unreal how large of a turbo we can fit on the passenger side with space to go, compared to the driver side. Its made me consider making a big single kit with a passenger side turbo and then a crossover tube from the driver side. |
Hey Charles, i was on the website earlier shopping around and noticed that these manifolds haven't been added yet. Any reason? and will they be added?

So I slept on it for a while since I was very busy and moved the shop etc. Last week a new driver side manifold design was finished, and we now have GTX3582Rs fitting both sides without any motor mount modification! This week I will be cutting some more manifold flanges and we are going to begin building more. |

Hey phunk, what kind of stainless are you using in these?

I'm down here in Aus & am building my own system. I Love your Flanges, they are a real nice bit of gear. Cheers Mate. |

For the stainless flanges I have been making for our manifolds, they would be significantly more expensive than these. They cost $60/set in raw material alone, and are very time consuming to machine to such detail. If I divided up the costs of inserts and cutters that are destroyed by the time a batch is done, that would probably sort out to another 7-15$ per set. I was thinking that if I were to sell these flanges outside of manifolds, it would probably be $250-275 USD a pair. At such a cost, I am not sure that many people would bite. This weekend's batch was dedicated to our turbo manifolds. But if the interest is there I could probably make another batch for individual retail. |
Thanks Charles,
I'm definitely interested, they are sweet. |
Dude. Nice work on that flange, it's killer.

Any pics of the final Manifold Charles.

Not yet. We are still making adjustments so we cant call it final yet. We keep moving the wastegates a little trying to fit the larger MV-R wastegates in a place that we are happy with. We also want to see it all done with the new driver side coolant pipe before we can call that side done.
|
Well... we just accepted our first order for a set of manifolds. Time to get this thing going.
|
What's the new price for a set? I'm looking at a spring turbo build now.
Got any new pics?I'll need to pickup some gt28rs turbos as well. |
They are on the CJM website for $2495 for the turbo manifolds.

Yup the manifolds are $2495. We have shipped a few sets now. A friend has finished assembling his 370 with the first prototype set and we are going to try it out on the dyno soon. He went with a pair of GT3076R and they have surprisingly wicked response for their rather high output potential.

We have downpipes and dumptubes done and jigged, just havent put those on the website yet.
We did a large race intercooler and will sooner or later offer the intercooler with throttle tubes as another standalone product that can be be used for custom turbo kits using our manifolds, or to upgrade the intercooler on existing turbo kits. Pics of the first prototype of the IC attached. It has 3" outlets from the IC all the way to the throttle. The inlets are 2.75". |
Looking real good! Any solutions for a tow bar?
