Wouldn't you want different cams for a turbo application? There's almost too much overlap as it is, so won't you be blowing a lot of boost out the exhaust valves? Or do they have a set of turbo cams in the works?

Well as I understand, Jim Wolf Technologies works almost exclusively with Nissan motors. The cams have been developed with VVEL / engine specifics in mind and aim to have that perfect boost:back pressure ratio to prevent loss of power. The turbo cams I'm receiving are being custom built for this setup. But I am by far the least qualified person to speak extensively on this complex technology...where's my boy Daelen at?

So we had the same thought but after a very, very lengthy chat (A few chats actually lol) with JWT about the results we had with the NA motor, we should see power come on a little faster, and make comparable power at lower boost levels with the C1 cams. As the cams get larger (C2 and beyond) Turbo Vs NA applications will be taken into consideration for specific needs. But with how minor the changes are on the C1s, the guys that build these, that are way more knowledgeable than me, have zero concerns. So with that we are real excited to get a set of these into Jades car and get some tangible information.

As more info and applications are sorted out with JWT I will keep everyone informed to the best of my ability!

Engine, cams, pistons and bearings all in the machine shop! Turbo kit is fully paid off, now I just have to sit back and wait. Which is basically impossible because the weather in Virginia has been incredible, and I live in an area where you see more Porsches than Hondas. Fast Intentions and MA have been superb. I couldn't be more excited!!!! I spend wayy too much time daydreaming about being behind that wheel on a beautiful day like today. Even bought the Corky Bell book to keep myself in the boosted state of mind :). I'll keep yall posted on any and all developments!

Critical reading if you are going to boost a NA car:tup::tiphat:

Somehow I missed this thread. Excited for your results.

Is this the first built block FI TT? Oh the possibilities:driving:

Not at all! hjo1078 is my car mentor, and he's putting down at least 641 to the wheels on a built block with basically the exact same setup. Only difference for me will be those cams. He's also got bigger injectors and a fancy aftermarket LSD. It's been great to have someone providing extra tips along the way. Thanks HJ!

Yea his car has been running for a while but I believe he was running out of fuel so his numbers are pretty conservative.

'Conservative' :rofl2:

I assume this was a voluntary built block and not a rebuild of one that let go?

It's always good to have people to bounce questions off. That's why I love this boosted VQ community, we all are more than willing to help each other out.

Courtesy of MA Motorsports - these pics literally get sent straight to my phone from Daelen. Can't stress enough the high level of professionalism from both of these vendors (MA and FI). I've probably sent and received at least 60 emails and calls between the two of them. Anyway here's some more pics of beautiful shiny metal objects - torque plate, block, pistons rods bearings etc. Block and rotating assembly are almost complete! Thanks Daelen for the constant updates. So happy I went with MA.

PS I have done absolutely ZERO work today. Way too excited. It's going to be a long night catching up lol.

So is that your engine block or a spare one?
