I have the exact same kit on mine just installed by Aam competition themselves. And with a new custom 3 inch system I'm making 540whp

COSMO 02-16-2015 05:12 PM

The hp numbers are great but tq is what win races...

Robert,

Our dyno doesn't read high. It's actually lower than most local dynos. The car consistently makes 580+rwhp in 4th gear. The car is also dialed back a small tad in 5th gear to help with longevity.

Juan@Fontana 02-17-2015 01:06 PM

I swear EFR turbos have Magical Voodo, so far as i know every car that has had the EFR turbos installed it ends up making crazy power compared to GT and GTX turbos. good job guys!

Gregor12 02-18-2015 10:56 AM

Damn! nice numbers. I saw some flames as well :happydance:

Im sorry but I have to ask... how is the car "dialed back in 5th gear" Also, I haven't seen many NA Zs with as much WHP as the cars that leave your shop.. Anyways, hope to see a AAM car at the Forged Performance airstrip event.

hmmmmm FI TT vs AAM TT.

that would be a fun race to watch. wonder if there will be one of each entering.

you can tune by gear as well i believe. a lot of cars do this to avoid breaking parts or traction in low gears, or blowing up in the upper gears. so say he pulls out two lbs of boost and some timing in 5th gear so its not pushing its limits. For example, i had a sti before my z and in first gear the target boost was only set at 16 where 3rd was 18.5 and then 5th was 17.5. **** was still slow though lol

I am well aware of boost by gear setups however I do not think that is what's going on here.

What kind of boost controller is this car running?

ANMVQ 02-18-2015 12:40 PM

The tune by gear would be great if true, This would help the auto guys, OR X guys like myself we we would want to dial TQ back in the low gears and 3-5 have it all there, then tapper back down in 6-7th, BTW I have never been in 7th NO CLUE WHY IT THERE LOL

Ecutek promised it but as far as I know it's never become a reality for our platform.

Having a boost controller that will go boost by gear is the only way I know for our platform and I think only Tubrosmart and HKS make one that'll do it.

Gregor12 02-18-2015 01:39 PM

Oh, well i stand corrected lol thought there would be an easier way to do this! staying tuned for how its dialed back in 5th

The kit will fit automatics and we are in the process of working with a customer to test fit on a rhd 370. :)

this is just my thoughts, now I'm not saying this is a fact. from my perspective whenever i tune a car it is always good to double check in higher gears. reason behind why i do it is that the taller gears will load the engine more, spools the turbos sooner and at times depending on wastegate and manifold efficiency they might even creep a bit more boost. (i've noticed this mainly on DIY setups where the setup isn't engineered correctly) so it's always good to double check to make sure you are still in the safe zone and within a comfortable margin on both AFR, EGT's and Knock threshold in the 5th gear load cells. so if you tune a car the entire time say in 4th gear, it is always good to make a 5th and 3rd gear pass to make sure all is well.

what's the estimated number of hours of labor for install?

98intrigue 02-19-2015 01:37 PM

Jon,

Let me know when you start tuning Vipers:stirthepot: I wouldn't mind a road trip to Georgia.

Hi Jason,

I'm very interested here ...
My car has a brand new built motor (0 Miles) from Import Parts Pro.
9.5:1 CR with CP pistons and rods ... ARP bolts.
The car has sort of a Stillen SC'r installed ... (long story on that)
PPI long tube headers - cat delete with HKS exhaust.
And has been tuned by VinnyTen Racing in NYC.

I can finish the car and do some break in miles on the way down to MD.
How much for a total installation and tune at your shop.
I live in NJ and can get the car to you if you give me a date.
Please advise as to any other recommendations you may have.

OK to PM me ... Thanks.

ANMVQ 03-01-2015 01:07 PM

I'm in to see that Bob!! I'm still scratching for funds to do mine. I'd take some vacation time and drive down there for a day if that's all it takes ;)

Hey on the AAM Website it says the kit takes your technicians 8-12 hrs for install?
