oil-less turbo for rear mount?

was thinking about doing a home build similar to an sts setup but using a comp oil-less turbo. it would eliminate the use of an external oil pump but still require coolant lines ran to it. would this be to far to travel for coolant lines? or any other reason this would be a bad idea?

Go read about the STS kits that 350Z members had/have. You will probably change your thoughts on a rear mount.

not sure what you mean, seen a few videos of 350 and 370z's on youtube with them and everything seems fine. i did see a few post with issues with sts kit itself as far as fitment or build quality but if i plan on building myself those wouldnt be the issue.

 for wanting to DIY but I would reconsider your turbo location.

Hey pal if you don't go with a bp turbo kit, sasha's disciples will most certainly crucify you here on the forum..

How is that even relevent to the OPs question?

Why not go with a bp kit but with an oil less turbo? Rear mount is laggy.

COSMO 02-03-2015 12:21 PM

A rear mount would be very laggy and not saying a bp kit wouldn't be a bad choice..

Maybe not, but that sure was a :stirthepot: comment

And yeah, OP, as mentioned the rear mount is laggy.

Do not judge your kit on watching videos of it on the street. I could paint a turd gold and say it was a nugget from the hills on youtube.

Read some threads on it. What people like or don't like about the kit. Educate yourself on all the problems which will or may arise.

And yes, I have heard nothing but lag stories. That is a ton of piping to charge. Plus your exhaust gasses are cooling by the time they get back there. More heat = more spool.

Fixed, I meant to write, wouldn't instead of would..

So more :stirthepot: ... You are saying the BP kit would be a bad choice?

COSMO 02-03-2015 12:36 PM

Ok lets go over our words here.. (wouldn't) short for (would not).. The bp kit would not be a bad choice.. Tomorrow we will cover another word... lol

I wonder what the reason for that would be...... Maybe because the kit is tried and proven to make incredible results? Maybe because there are not any concerns of it being laggy with its twin scroll design? Maybe because it made 533whp 470wtq on 9lbs? Perhaps its BP's top notch customer service?

Yeah, we stand behind our purchases because we have reasons and results to do so.:happydance:

So can tomorrow's lesson be on the meaning of, or better yet, not using double negatives:tup:
