I also have the sphere knob, I think 2" circles are more comfortable then piston because they don't have the top edge. I have had both in the past. but

WC Lathe Werks Shift Knobs
I also have the sphere knob, I think 2" circles are more comfortable then piston because they don't have the top edge.
I have had both in the past. but I would say it's mostly up to u. try and fine something that's shaped like the piston an sphere an drill a hole in it to test them out haha here's my lathe werks knob:
