The shift knob looks really nice. I really like the titanium finish. Prices are not released yet.

thats cool
looks expensive and slippery.

I love the burnt look...

xDIEGOx 12-29-2008 09:41 PM

I bet it's going to be fun putting my hand on it in the middle of summer.

invazn 12-30-2008 12:12 AM

Maybe I'm weird, but it doesnt look that comfortable to me..

Crash 12-30-2008 01:05 AM

Ew.... That doesn't look good at all and it's not going to match anything on the interior.

I'll stick with the stock knob, even if I get the short(er) throw.

Mr. BigHam 12-30-2008 01:25 AM

yeah stock is kooler. unless that knob only costs like 10 bucks LoL then I will buy it....no, I would just keep stock.

invazn 12-30-2008 01:28 AM

Lol @ $10 titanium shift knob. I love the way it looks, it just looks uncomfortable.

Crash 12-30-2008 02:28 AM

I think I'd rather get some clay, smoosh it in a tight grip, bake it in that shape, and stick the shifter rod in it! That'd be REALLY comfy! LOL (And it'd cost like $2). But it'd be HIDDIOUS!

Looks ok, but leather knobs are needed in Phoenix where car temps can hit 140+ in the summer.
I had a metal one once, I use to keep a baby's glove in the car to put over it so I wouldn't scold my hand.

LiquidZ 01-02-2009 08:00 PM

Stock will be fine for me.

I think this will become irritating after a few miles.

Yeah I will probably stay with the stock one or something cooler than this one looks for the the same reason. 110* in the central valley isn't fun even though there are much hotter places.

Looks nice, but give me a rounded knob that's decently weighted and I'll be happy.

I have a metal shift knob at the moment and it's not really that bad in summer or winter. There was 100 degree weather this summer and it was manageable. Just have a cloth or something handy to cover it.

If it had a logo on the knob, it would brand it into my hand if I grabbed it in the phoenix heat.

In Fresno it gets a little hotter than So Cal so even with the cloth or something covering it you can't touch it for about 15 minutes while the A/C is on.

Yeah, my friend used to keep a beanie on his shifter in his Z28. It was a metal 8-ball... At the time, I didn't drive stick, so when I went to drive his car, I took the beanie off not knowing why it was there in the first place. I grabbed the stick to put it in 1st and **sizzle** that Freaking HURT!

I think ill stick with the stock shifter for now.

If you guys are worried about the knob being really hot during the summer, just put a sock on top of it. It seems to work for me. I have a set of titanium, aluminum, and stainless steel shift knobs. (I have a friend who runs a machine shop, so we made these for fun)

TerribleONE 01-16-2009 04:17 AM

i have a arc TI knob on my G37.. and even in the 110 degree summer heat it was fine.. remember titanium reacts to heat much differently..

Kind of defeats the purpose of getting a good looking knob for it to always be covered with a sock. Leather = the way to go for the valley of the sun.
