Shift knobs

If only i could find a great deal on the tk hebi bebi knob, i feel like that would be the ultimate knob

I read that Momo's can be less then durable.

here's a WC lathe werks stainless steel ball. weighs 500g+ since the collar is metal as well. whatever knob you get, make sure you get a collar of some sort to match the way our shift boot matches up to the knob

i used to have the TK hebi bebi. it was nice and all, but a week of using it and it hit me that i paid $250 for a damn shift knob. sold that thing asap and bought the fatboy replica. exact same shape and size of the TK knob, 0.1lbs heavier, and i prefer it since i don't have to worry about trying to align the turtle on top.

The flossy knob is heavier than twm piston, 545 grams vs. 525 gr. IIRC, who would have thought of that! another pro to the flossy is that it's coated in resin which will keep the knob cool in the Summer. If your eyes are already set on the flossy, I'd say go for your first thought.

As for the piston, i'd like $100+5 for shipping. So same price for a new flossy. It's still fairly new, my buddy only used it for a couple months maybe less before he sold his car.

you have to crank the set screws pretty tight on the momo's...otherwise they tend to loosen. when you crank the set screws though, it bites into the shifter shaft thread... like through the rubber grommet they give you.

i had this problem on my G's momo knob before. i fixed the thread using a thread repair tool, and screwed on the specter knob.

also, youll probably want to get a new momo shift boot with the collar inside which will mate with the bottom of the knob cleanly.

Hubby is an aircraft mech. Hopefully he will be able to "adjust" the fit and set screws so they don't loosen up.

Doesn't that get scorching hot in the summer? thats one thing im worried about.

i think chops mentioned that they dont get as hot as his other metal knobs.

it also depends on the finish/texture of the knob. ive had metal knobs that got hot but not super hot in the summer months like the twm satin knob.
but then a polished momo got scorching hot.

if you're worried about hot/cold, check out the twm specter. it's weighted brass core with delrin. very nice.

and heres the thing. at first thats what i was looking at but the knob just looks so ugly.. thats why i resorted to the flossy knob.. but its like i dont want to go out and spend $100 on something that im not sure about. i dont want to buy a knob now and then find something i like better down the road.. :/

you think the specter knob looks ugly? they look and feel great.

and you cant buy a specter or any of the twm's for 100...
