Gtc-200 wing on nismo 370z

Does anybody know first of all if the nismo wing is removable and if not what do I do?????

zman1910 10-01-2009 12:28 AM

Why wouldn't it be? It's a bolt on like any other spoiler...

Trips 10-01-2009 12:36 AM

The wing is removable but the bolt pattern on the Gtc-200 will be probably different..

tru_Asiatik 10-01-2009 01:07 AM

200(i have it in my garage from my previous car) is not wide enough for the z 300 would be better
just be prepared to be flamed for putting that wing
but of course it all boils down to what you like

bullitt5897 10-01-2009 08:01 AM

let me know if you willing to sell your nismo wing :) like some have said the 200 series seems a bit too narrow for the new bodied Z. It all comes down to your personal preference and if you like it I say go for it!

Trips 10-01-2009 09:41 AM

The Bottom line it's your car and your driving it! but don't be surprised at the wtf! looks or comments you'll get from some fellow Z owners.

nogoodname 10-01-2009 09:43 AM

nismo kit is already on the funky side a bit... just slap on the wing.....

M.Bonanni 10-01-2009 12:57 PM

I don't think you would get flamed too much. Time attack or track looking cars are the new trend. :) In fact, there is an article about it in one of the magazines right now.

For functionality I agree that the GTC-200 is too narrow for the 370Z and if the Nismo spoiler is anything like the sport package one then it will leave a bunch of holes in the middle of your hatch as you can see here...

Luv'n my Z 10-03-2009 12:34 AM

Man those holes left by the Nismo spoiler are ugly. In my opion the 300 is to thick I prefer the thiner 200 but I wish it was wider

thank all of you for your input

This thing?!?! You wanna stick this thing on your beautiful Z?

of crap is that what it looks like?

molamann 10-03-2009 12:52 AM

Well if it's functional, I don't really care how it looks.

It would have to be pretty damn functional to overcome that.

Trips 10-03-2009 12:59 AM

that's just screams fast and the furious. :bowrofl:

That's one of the many things it screams.

There is nothing wrong with a proper GT-wing on a car so long as it's justified. If anything with a GT-wing screams "Fast and the Furious," then I guess every purpose-built car out of a Japanese tuning-house (hell...even American ones for Corvettes and Vipers) and ALMS race-cars do, too.

Yes...such a wing on a stock car would look ridiculous, but I wouldn't be so quick to write it off.

That said, the owner of this car must be a ricer. Wow...stickers and a Fast and the Furious wing. He should hang his head in shame...

http://www.rs-dino.com/RSD360FrontT3_01.jpg

A properly functional wing will certainly look good on a track-prepped Z. Keep us posted DDM.

Trips 10-03-2009 02:59 AM

That it's a 150,000 approx..difference and the name speaks performance and craftsmanship your comparing two different class of cars nissan like other imports got tagged as ricers due to the movie it didn't help so does that thing belong on a street driven car of course not the track maybe if it's functional. but again if one likes it then install. I personally didn't like it and that's my opinion.

You are missing the point, but fine...perhaps some more examples of rice without the "150,000 approx..difference" [sic] you can dwell on should suffice...

All I'm trying to highlight is scoffing at GT-wings at a mere mention as too "Fast 'n Furious" is laughable. Evidenced by the pictures above, they can look quite badass in the proper context.

The above is not the same as below, regardless if you think it is. After all...ricey wings are the same, right?

Catch my drift?

Trips 10-03-2009 03:38 AM

I agree the wings like you show are used on the track but taking a stock Z and putting something like this may not look to fuctional on the street. that's what the implication was about theres a difference from a stock and a modified track car. thats all that was meant.

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 12:17 AM

My Z isn't exactly stock it has been dropped and has race redy rims on it. In addition to a carbon fiber hood and b pillars

Trips 10-04-2009 12:40 AM

Luv'n my Z, it's all good if you need a different than stock rear wing then by all means go for it. this types of question open discussion were sometimes it don't need to go it's not helping you with your question my apologies to you.

Can you share some pics of the CF hood?....I'm curious

Thanks

vipor 10-04-2009 01:09 AM

The Ferrari is the only car that looked GOOD with its wing. The rest of the cars looked like race cars and for that reason the wing is there. As much as I LOVE S15s and 3rd Gen RX7s I wouldn't put one on my car.

My 2cents, don't take it personal.

The Nismo wing on my car is quite nice, a little much, but it's grown on me. It's supposed to give some actual downforce, is the GT wing that much better?

my CF hood looks similar to this minus the massive front scoop. This belongs on a wrx Subaru

I think the reason they asked for pictures of it on your car is because a lot of us have been looking for a cf hood for quite some time but nooone has one available atm

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 02:44 PM

That sucks I drove past a shop and saw a hood
in the window on sale and as it turns out it fits on the Z34

Solus 10-04-2009 03:52 PM

I like to think they had it for me but I think I was just lucky that day.

phelan 10-04-2009 04:04 PM

Damn that hood looks busy as all hell.

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 04:06 PM

Here is the link to the exact hood I have
370Z Tuner

frost 10-04-2009 04:53 PM

The argument of "it's functional, so I don't care what it looks like" argument only works on vehicles that only see the track. You can probably do the 1/4 quicker by putting on lightweight 12 inch rooms, removing your hood and hatch, and cutting off your roof, doesn't mean it looks good or is something you want to commute in, or drive your date to dinner in.

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 04:56 PM

Can somebody Photoshop a purple nismo Z with flat black BBS GTR rims witha red pinstrip and a carbon fiber hood plus a gtc 200 wing?????? If you can you might be Jesus

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 05:02 PM

I am a great photoshopper but I am not willing to pay the $300 for photoshp.

Solus 10-04-2009 05:37 PM

Do you have any pictures of your car w/ the hood installed? I went to Seibon's site and they still aren't listing any parts and according to 370ztune.com that is who made the hood and it was available last month.

phelan 10-04-2009 06:03 PM

Uhh....the Seibon hoods on 370ztuner are using 350z CF hood photos. I don't think Seibon has them available yet (I've been pestering them about it, but to no avail).

You seriously have a hood on? Pics? Then I can go back and whine at Seibon again for not answering my question truthfully

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 08:03 PM

They do it was available last month

my camera cable was left at kinkos so no photos

nogoodname 10-04-2009 08:07 PM

Luv'n my Z 10-04-2009 08:33 PM

nogoodname 10-04-2009 08:42 PM
