pretty sure hes joking and referring to the countless fake recaro knockoffs like these:

That's even still a lot of money. And what's everybody talking about airbags for when I'm talking about seats? R airbags in the seats?

Buying seats is a costly experience. It's far from cheap but it's well worth it in my opinion. Honestly, their is no way to escape the price and if you do it probably won't be worth it in the future. Think long term here.

yes...all stock seats have airbags built into them. when you get into an accident they will deploy up to your head/shoulder area. by going with an aftermarket seat you almost always lose the seat airbags.

Well, here's to dredging up old topics.
I went to the local Nissan dealer to see how much it would cost to purchase the seats from the 2015 370Z NISMO for my 2015 370Z Sport, if they would even sell them in the first place (restricted part?).
The parts guy was very helpful , showed me the computer screen as he called up the parts exploded view, which included the list price for all the parts. HOLD ON TO YOUR HATS BOYS (AND GIRLS):
The upper seat (cushion/back, etc): about $3,650!
Lower seat (cushion & assoc. parts, but not frame): about $3,350!
That's right, $7K for ONE seat, or $14K for both. And there may still be some assorted additional parts required that the parts guy wasn't sure came with the 2 major parts.

So even though the seats aren't NISMO "restricted" parts, Nissan ensures they are considered that way through exorbitant pricing.
I could care less about the NISMO logo, I just want the seats.

For what it's worth, the NISMO Juke seats can be had for about half the price of the 370Z NISMO seats, still too much for my blood.

Or you can just get the Recaro Sportster CS for between $1400-2000 per seat and its literally the exact same thing minus the airbags. You could even have a shop embroider a couple Nismo logos on them for you for a few bucks more. Bing bang boom.

Thanks. I'm going to look into that. I don't even want the NISMO logo. Not too sure about giving up the air bags though.

The sporster CS is the exact same seat, and fun fact the Nismo 370z seat is actually just the back piece where the lower portion is the older seat. Where the Juke Nismo RS seat & sporster CS seat has the higher bolster lower section which gives a more snug fit.

But also makes it more of a pain in the *** to get in and out of on a daily basis.... Years ago during my days of youthful indiscretion I used to daily drive with Bride Brix 2 seats and getting in/out of a low *** car with those high *** bolsters got old really quick. They sure held you in place nicely though!

If that's true... just use that money to trade up to the new nismo.

Problem solved! :ugh2:

I really love the seats but that's unreal. that may explain why the Nismos at my organizations Nissan store are $50k+

I sat in the CS in the Racaro both at the St. Pete Grand Prix yesterday and they feel great! I may have to buy a set!

I had never gone but my friend was given seats in a suite (80 people $50,000 for the weekend) with paddock passes. I will be back next year, we had a blast.
