Need moar pics of this beast!

ZeroZeta 03-17-2015 11:48 PM

Picking my car up from the shop this weekend. Getting a little nervous about how my decision to try to blend it with a non-kitted Z will pan out.

Will post pics when I can so everyone can either share my joy or mock me in my misery.

konsta 03-17-2015 11:50 PM

Color turned out amazing

Oh thank God... i am happy with this.

Hello OEM KAD Varis. I am putting the grills on (blacking out as well.) I don't want to call attention to my Intercooler deficiency.

I can't tell you how happy I am to not have my Nissan burger on the front anymore. That bugged me as much as the bowtie on the new Camaros.

FairladyZ10PG 03-19-2015 04:05 PM

^happy for you bro :)

cooltoy 03-19-2015 05:07 PM

Looking good.

edliaszenik 03-19-2015 05:18 PM

Really love that front end in silver. That's my current plan, not so sure on the rear bumper though. I need more pics of yours with only the front end! I'll be in K23 though

ZeroZeta 03-19-2015 10:28 PM

Thanks all. Will post more pics when I get the car detailed.

So I just looked at my bumper photo and realized the two side vents are right on top of my injen filters you can see the blue filter in the pic.

Oh well I don't drive in the rain anyway (weekend car) but may mock up some covers just in case.

This will be an interesting mod. I too will have to make some kind of cover for my bumper when it comes in as i have the Injen CAI. Looking forward on what you come up with so i can possibly use the same idea.

ZeroZeta 03-20-2015 11:24 AM

Yeah it should be fun. My initial thought was taking the black plastic pieces that separate the front wheel wells from the radiator on the factory bumper and remolding them. Not like they would be useful for the aftermarket bumper anyway.

Also the injen water shields won't do any good as they were not designed to block moisture head-on, at full speed.

Stillen G3 probably won't work with the bumper since the "nostril" ducts go too far back.

I am determined not to go short ram intake or back to stock. So I will figure something out.

Just get the takeda or stillen intake and call it a day :icon17:

I forgot about that...

ZeroZeta 03-20-2015 11:33 AM

Yeah same issue with Takeda or G3. I might test just to see if there are clearance issues. For me though not really a big deal since I am fortunate enough to not have to daily my car.

Liquid_G 03-23-2015 10:06 AM

damn those pics came out cool. nice job cooltoy finding all those..

But in this pic.

https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7643/...795b9de1_o.jpg

Front wheel fitment is kinda sucky... the last thing the shop needs to fix is that fender tab clearance so I can run a little less camber on new wheels.

Found out a couple weeks ago new wheels are stuck in a container somewhere in the port in LA. Hoping they get that backlog cleared up soon. :(

Also that dude in the red hat is an ugly mofo... :rofl2:

Clearbra - Must Have.

So for anybody wondering how the bumper looks without the rest of the kit.

Overall, works well. My plan was to get some side blades and apply some of what I didn't spend on the full kit into non-aero mods.

I think the blades are necessary to fill out the sides a bit.

FairladyZ10PG 03-24-2015 07:29 PM

^I think the sunline side skirts (not blades) will match perfectly with the front

http://www.empirez.com/images/2012_08_02.jpg

How many cut pieces did they need to finish covering the whole front?

ZeroZeta 03-24-2015 07:35 PM

Thanks for the Sunline Reco!

I always forget about them.

Front is likely going to be 3 pieces. Main bumper, grill area and then Lip. I don't see them getting away with less based on how far the film will stretch.

cooltoy 03-24-2015 07:36 PM

Or S-tune, plus they will be pre-painted.

I considered clearbra for my amuse rep. but I figured it'd be cheaper to have them repainted after a few years lol
(they were charging me so much to do my bumper since there's no precut available)

Can't wait to see it finished!

Moonbeam sides can run with diffuser and spats

ZeroZeta 03-25-2015 08:40 PM

Ha Ha. I can tell you are psychic. I was looking at the car after i picked it up today and wondering what it would look like with those sides.

So there might be some mixing and matching in my future.

Regardless I love that companies continue to support the z34.
