Where you guys ordering from...? I have a feeling you get what up pay for. But I found a set for $108 shipped from China through JPCarbon. Pain in the *** to deal with but worth the hassle for the cost.

How is the quality of the carbon fiber? Seems like the average price online and on the classifieds on the forums are in the 200-250 range. Where should we order from?

My GTR hood vents

The top side quality where the carbon fiber shows is perfect. It's the underside that is questionable more so because they molded a mesh screen over the exposed hole and have a few assembly screws that are exposed.

They're not designed to work that way, search NACA Ducts. If you don't have a proper temp gauge for H20, it would be hard to see the difference. I installed my guage after the vents so I don't know, but temps while driving will be minimally effected. What I do know is that they help tremendously once the car is parked. I use to go out 3 hrs after a drive to plug my car in (Battery Tender) & all kinds of heat would still pour out of the hood when I opened it. I don't have that problem anymore. So for me it was both function & fashion. ;)

I looked it up and learned something new today. I can understand how in this application probably more for letting heat out at idle as you described.

Really depends on what style you get & from where. Mine are non-gloss w/ mesh & look great on the white hood. You can also find them in FRP which are cheaper. There are several different souces out there, Ebay, Alibaba, ect.

Seems like a great place to post pics/prices/sites, so we can all compare and see what's best for us. I don't mind paying for a great product, I also don't mind a less costly version. I just don't want to pay the higher price for the lower-ish quality item, thanks for any help guys.

Looks good Felix. Those look similar to the ones I have. Leaning towards putting them closer together above the engine cover.

Thanks :tiphat: Mozen did that & as you can see they look pretty good. Probably a little more effective as well as looking more like the placement on the GTR. Originally I was looking to put them higher up like the OP's from Simota1's inspiration, but I started to look how I would do the ducting without removing the compartments in the engine bay & figured it would not be worth it. So the I kind off went of the Siebon GTR hood. I also mapped the bottom of where the vents were going to come thru as I did not want to break up too much of the hood structure. Mine are centered top to bottom on the hood & are perfectly symmetrical in their placement.

For those looking to install these, it is all about the lay out work. If they are off by a 1/4" or more you & everyone else will know it. Remember, once you have begun cutting you have 1 chance to get it right & 2 chances to muck it up
