I bought and installed mine just a few months ago so I hope it is lol. I wish I knew about Aeromotions before though; at the time I only knew of APR, Kognition, and Ings.

You will have to ask them directly. I am not allowed by contract to speak about my pricing. They are very customer friendly and have no problem making it for new customers. Mike |

Any who he quoted me $1830 for a GTC 500. Problem is they are out of 500's till mid June. :( They must have a gtc 500 that has mounting points close like the 370z and they just include 370z mounts with that wing cause if you look at a GTR the mounts are very very wide. Looks like Aeromotions it is since they quoted 3 day turn around. |

Great packaging on the replacement one too! just a lightly wrapped wing in a big box with no stuffing or filler. :icon14: http://imageshack.com/a/img59/7687/imagepez.jpg |
After seeing you post this before I've been concerned about mine but I feel better knowing they replaced it.

Well I called back and got a hold of Tony this time. Nice guy and we talked a lot. Basically we ended up that he does know you Mike and another gtc300 that snapped on a vette. He did swear things have changed as yours was older and it might have been just a fluke. He also told me wings are maintanence items just like seats and belts and helmets. After 4-5 years or what they go through, they should be replaced for weakening with the sun and downforce over time. So we talked this time about the GT-250 as a 2D might be better for me since I don't make the power for the gtc 300 or 500. I agree I don't want to die in the straights. The GT-250 is supposed to be awesome and Martin agrees as he told me a while ago to just buy that even over his Aeromotions he was gonna sell me. It has a Gurney flap and I went with the 71". It'll have 11" raisers so base plus wing should be an inch above the roof line. Guess I'll be the first 370z with it  |

If it was hit you really can't blame the manufacturer. In Mikes case while no excuse he was at Daytona (if I remember correctly) probably the biggest G force/ downforce track in the country. I spend most of my track time at Sebring and Homesteads road course, no where close to those Gs or downforce.

and mine definitely didn't have age/sun weakening. The car is kept in a garage except for the 1 weekend per month it sees the track. I think it was about a year and a half old at the time it failed.
|
I agree that sucks, was I right it was at Daytona?

yes, daytona. The aeromotions did fine there this year :P
|
It'll be interesting how solid the GT-250 will be. I don't think I'm gonna put 950lbs on it like Aeromotions but I hope it's strong.
|
Yeah Daytona is notorious for being hard on wings... It may have just been a weak one in the batch. I haven't seen another one fail yet so I am comfortable with continuing to run their products.

BTW: My EVO-R "Wang" is in the garage, still waiting for the "Z" :stirthepot: |
Can I play?
https://naritadogfight.files.wordpre..._3033-edit.jpg https://naritadogfight.files.wordpre..._3034-edit.jpg Custom all carbon Varis Euro Edition wing. Contrary to popular belief and from all the pictures floating around on the internet, the GT wing is not mounted to the Zele trunk spoiler. In fact, it's not even touching the Zele spoiler. It's mounted directly onto the hatch and is designed to look like they're mounted together. :D Also features a fully sealed flat bottom from front splitter to rear diffuser. The entire bottom of the car is completely flat using chassis mounted panels. These panels are so strong that we had guys doing pull ups on every panel while the car was on the lift. Also custom canards and fender liner panels were made too. The two support rods in the front are connected to a bracket that's directly connected to the chassis. |
Any pics from under the car?

Can anyone explain the characteristic differences vs straight blade type wings (Aeromotions) and multi-angle wings like the APRs?

Apr updated, old vs new
Old... http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...pszjjeg9kz.jpg New... http://i39.photobucket.com/albums/e1...pshubg2onx.jpg |

Mine is also.

Good! You guys are good to go. Glad mike didn't have this happen!!
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=_LnmD7kxHUw |
yeah, me too. The end plates of mine were flapping enough to come down the 8 inches to the rear fenders and dent both sides, but had one or both sides separated on the banking, it could have been much much worse!
|
Subscribed... love that Bulletproof Zele Z
Hope to get a GT Wing for my Z someday |
So they added reinforcements to the new style? My Apr gtc-300 flaps up and down about an inch of travel at 90+ mph, and it makes me quite nervous.
|
Yikes
|
What was changed on the new style? I'm not seeing any information about it on APR's website.
|
Tony said the new mounts and more internal structure like ribs of an airplane wing.
