the hook is needed when you're breaking the speed of sound barrier. the hook goes first so that the sonic boom doesn't strip away the paint from your z. that's the real reason it's there.

On my Z it's also the Stillen license plate frame attachment point. :)

Tow hook, makes your Z looks tougher and meaner.

I wanna be a race car driver! But it's not official until I get the hook. Dude nices halos. U did them ur self?
|
Me or iwan72? I got mine done by a local guy (paperboy) here in cali. Only thing i regret is not getting them done sooner :) Money well spent!
|
How much did it cost to get then done. I was looking at DIY to do it my self but it seemed complicated
|
Only time you should have your hook in place is when you are at the track. For some reason people think it makes them cool or something to drive around town with them on the car. The Honda guys do this all the time, should tell you something.

Hook
Buy one. They do look cool and they can be used in a pinch. But mostly they look cool haha. I bought mine here. It says 350 but it fits 370 just fine. They come in several colors too. The packaging is awesome and it arrived on time.
http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00BF0...&robot_redir=1 Also doin your halos on your own is actually really easy. The toughest part for me was finding a big enough oven. I recomend doing it yourself, nothin like turnin the wrench yourself  follow the DIY and it shouldn't be too bad. This forum is the only tool you'll ever need |
I'm scared to do it alone. I'll see if I find good enough prices on halos I'll probably do it. And thanks I got the hook in red. Only thing I'm scared of is that the DIY show u how to take it apart. They don't should u how to glue them together and stuff.
|
I installed mine the day before leaving for a weekend at Sebring and my wife asked me " your not superstitious so what with the horseshoe on your car?".
|
Chicks dig the tow hook.

Them ladies love to hook. Err, THE hook. Real talk though, I guarantee [most] ladies would notice the hook before a turbo/exhaust. They either don't know/don't care/are annoyed by the latter. The former is just an accessory, mainly for looks on street driven cars (some exceptions, no doubt, to the women and cars with two hooks). TapaTalk for iPhone. |
