SeaSucker Hornet Bike Rack

If people use the SS they usually go with the talon, i saw the hornet to be a better option. Figured id post some pictures of my setup and make some people cringe ha.
Mostly go to my trail within 5 miles, further i would strap up the front as well. I love it. Over 30 commutes so far.

You're a good sport. While I don't approve of a bike rack on sports car, +1 rep! At least you can take it off in 20 seconds. When you see an attractive lady walkin up, just remember the clocks ticking!

Looks about the same as boofsquire. Def takes some getting used to seeing a bike on the back of a Z.
Hella functional though.

Honestly i would rather rock the Boofsquire. While i trust this dude, its still always a little nerve racking having a $2k+ bike and a potential accident depending on suction cups.
I don't necessarily approve of bike rack on sportscar either....but I don't approve of not hitting the trail 5+ times a week even more unfortunately

....... I kinda enjoy the stares at the trail parking lot though!

"IF" I were to transport my bikes in the Z I would get a trailer hitch and use a Thule 916 or 917xtr. It's really one of the only racks out there safe enough for my bikes. Otherwise I'd take the wheels off and put it in the back. Some of my bikes cost me more than a motorcycle, and I value my car/bikes too much to use anything less.

I'm all for using your sports car like a normal car, but you're asking for your rear window to shatter... The seat is going to come through that window one of these days when you hit a pothole or something

i have a dahon. not that i carry it around in my Z. but im pretty sure it will fit in the trunk.
i have a carrying case for it too.

yea my medium frame 29er fits in the trunk with both tires removed...its really not that bad. But I got tired of putting it in there junking things up.
As for the rear window...the seat is just barely touching it at its base. And the strap from the trunk keeps the seat from bouncing. Shattering is not a concern at all. You could move it down a little to the trunk also.
Definitely not for everyone. I'm a function over form kind of guy.
Fitting a trailer hitch is a major PITA i hear.

things are not always as they seem. I learned the hard way when my I had an expensive MTB dangling off the back of a friends car on the highway. His rack was supposed to be good too! Personally, I only transport my bike outside the car when my wife goes with and I need to carry 2 bikes. Then I use my Thule in the bike hitch. That doesn't work well all the time either. One of my road bikes got jacked up on a trip to CA from Chicago. All the salt and road grime got inside everywhere it shouldn't have. Had to take the bike completely apart, and still had corrosion damage to an expensive set of wheels and a brand new quarq power meter! I also got some frame damage that I still have no idea where it came from!! I was not happy at all!!
