SOB broke my Sport Wing
Dam it I missed a bolt some how and while pulling on the wing after a good WD-40 soak of the double sided adhesive tape it snaped right where the missed bolt is located. Chalk one up for lack of expereince. Oh well, costly lesson!
Here is my Z at Hot Import Nights sporting the USW Forged Custom painted Crossover wheels and dropped on BC Racing Coilovers. http://i1013.photobucket.com/albums/...psc182971b.jpg |
I guess you are "zeeing red".
yuk yuk yuk wakka wakka |
im trying to figure out the connection between the broken wing and that picture...
|

Sorry man but those rims got to go!
|
At the very least get better offsets, it looks so weak.
|
I was expecting to see the picture of the broken wing. I didn't quite understand from the explanation alone.
Sorry to hear about the wing. |
The title also made me think someone else broke it, Son Of a B1tch broke my wing.
|
Some of you misunderstand, I built the Z the way I wanted to mod it and not the way you think it should be. Your opinion is yours alone and frankly I don't care what you think. My ride, my mods.

Ouch! Sucks.

At lowes right now to get a deep . 10 mm socket fow sport wing removal. I already popped the hatch cover and only see. Two bolts. Are there more?

Yes the 10mm is needed for both. Be very careful removing the nuts and bolts because if they fall, they slide towards the front of the hatch between the open spaces. May want to stuff a paper towel in there to prevent the nut/bolt from sliding towards the front of the hatch. I had to use a magentic extension to fish the first one out. Lessons learned. |

We'll post certianly helped me out. I see the two on the left, ill make sure to find the forth tommorow. I have appt on friday to install a siebon nsm spoiler on friday. Try to save on labor removing the sport wing myself, an added bonus would be not to break it.

Kenchan, I need your help. How do I put someone on that special list you keep? Thanks.

He had a story, and just posted a random picture of his car so you can imagine if it had a wing, and it broke... Can not fault the guy for getting defensive. Edit: After reading the post, I thought I was on the general forums. |
I'm super disappointed at what I'm seeing in here. This forum is a community of enthusiasts, not a cool kids club where we bash someone for his wheels in a posts completely unrelated to his wheels. Get on board with the community spirit or find yourself another Z forum.

please post pictures wisely... :icon08:

I tend to keep any comments to myself and not care what people do to their car(s) as everyone has their own style/taste |
Gentelmen, I made a rookie mistake while removing a part from Z and tried to make light of it. I am glad my error helped at least one person responding to this thread. I do not want to start conflict between members because that is not why we are here! We are here to help each other as far as I can tell and will continue with that thought in mind as I visit The 370Z.com forum.
Peace |

Don't spacers fck up your stirring wheel and cause it to vibrate at certain speeds?

Since most of the comments are related to the USW Forged wheels on my 370Z, here is a thread I started regarding the stagger and fitment along with completed pics.
|
Sorry to hear about your damage OP, did you just damage the wing or did you damage the hatch too? You might be able to fix the wing if you send it to a qualified bodyshop
Don't feel bad, I broke a brand new LED taillight for my Z back in the day since I wasn't careful with the install and have since learned not to rush when I am installing anything. I now always use plenty of painters tape whenever installing anything on a painted surface and make sure to take my time |

I got mine off w/o breaking, but didnt use enough tape and mared the paint, argg. I also learned adhesive remover is harmfull to the plastic taillights, double argg. It's at the shop now getting springs, spacers and a new spoiler. Will post pictures and what I learned in detail later. Hint be very carefull if you use an exacto knife cut to cut through the double sided tape.

I was tinting my tailights and the wire holding the light up broke and it fell and broke a coner off while it was drying :shakes head: i had to buy a new one

Might I also suggest using Goo-Gone and a hairdryer to remove adhesive in the future, I have used it in the past and it was easier to handle than WD-40 which I personally would never use on a painted surface. |
