When are you guys going to learn? If GTM is behind it you have a better chances waiting on death before there parts coming out.

There are about enough votes in, I was hoping knob 1 would edge out knob 2, but from the poll looks like I will be making 2 and 5. I have located a supplier for the heavy alloy so I will work on finalizing those two designs and starting production. I will get back in a couple days here with the eventual pricing and available finishes, but the knobs will not be up for sale until I have them machined and ready for whatever finish is ordered. I've been busy with work on some prototype stuff on my car last 4-5 weekends so I've just been letting the votes pile up. I plan on making 15-30 of each of the 2 knobs so availability won't be a problem rough guesstimate right now is $80-150 depending on finish but that is a ROUGH estimate.

ok here is a so far list of finishes

Machined gold
polished gold
powder coated
optional chrome plating (satin or gloss)

*Thinking of seeing if I can get the knobs rubberized if there is enough interest.

Do you know if this knob will fit an RB25 shifter? The RB25 uses a M10X1.25 thread size.

Also, will you be able to commit to a delivery date before we send out our money?

Matt@GTM 01-26-2014 01:44 AM

I will be getting this up to the point of the customer ordered finish before we start selling them so it will be, pay for knob -> send knob out for finish ordered -> ship knob. Some of the finishes like the chromes will need to be run in batches so the wait time for those will be longer than the others that do not have a batch size, as for powder coating I cannot guarantee the color accuracy for non standard colors at this point yet, though i want to look into getting our powder coater to offer these for this and other powder coated parts just don't know if it is going to pan out. I do know the machined and polished gold finishes will have a much shorter turnaround and will most likely be the cheapest.

It is the same thread size so I would guess it would fit an RB25 shifter but since i do not have an rb25 shifter, knob, and boot I can't say for sure. The RB's are something we almost never see here. The fitment would be almost exactly he same as a 370z/g37 knob so if your stock knob fits good on the rb shifter than most likely it would.

in for red rubberizing, that or some amber or orange powder coating.

Just an update on this, I got the material for the knobs and the fixturing ordered while I was working on the new clutch components, and it has arrived in today so I'm shooting to have some knobs ready for finishing in the next week or two.

I vote for rubber coating .. KP race had something similar that I had in my 240SX didnt get too hot or too cold. If this became an option what colors would be available?

I am still working on the rubberizing, right now it looks like basic red yellow blue black, custom colors are quite a bit extra because it is a rolling process so they would need to make several gallons of the color to do one knob where as the standard colors can be run with other orders they have. This is back burner right now so i am working on it during my weekends and lunches, Sam should be releasing a bunch of new parts soon that I have been working on, I wanted to do things like carbon synchros for the manual to go with the knobs, but the batch sizes are too large like 250 sets, so at this time I settled for completely redoing the clutch hydraulics :)

How much will it weigh?

I guess that would be next best thing to leather.

You did not have to rely just on my vote.

I noticed that white is not on the basic colors, so I'm going to assume that it will cost extra as of right now. Whats the worst case scenario on how much extra?
