Unless things change the burnt titanium finish is not doable with metal these heavy knobs are made of. A Ti knob would weigh significantly less. All of the knob designs are all over 500grams.

Yea I think oem knob looks best, even if the entire knob is brushed aluminum to match interior I think that would be the best design. You can even call it "the drip" lol since if you flip it upside down it looks like water drip off something.

Do some engraved numbers for gears and that would be perfect. I got $50 for it.haha

Basically an OEM G37 knob?

Please make an adapter for oem GT-R knobs to be used on manual Z? I'll buy one!

kenchan 12-05-2013 04:12 PM

An adapter for an automatic knob on a manual :icon14: or are you talking older r34 knobs? If r35 it's an originally bad idea, cuz having a giant button and an automatic shift pattern on a 6 speed is lamesauce

i think he wants to make his MT look like AT just to poke an eye at them AT folks. :icon17:

zeeder 12-05-2013 04:27 PM

I actually really dig the stock nob shape in a heavier knob!

Zbrah 12-05-2013 04:28 PM

I like the look and feel of the R35 shift knob, if there is an adapter I would have it. It's just personal preference, I don't really care for it being an auto and the button can be hooked up to my nos tank lol

I voted 13. It's close to Hebi Bebi, but not quite.

1slow370 12-05-2013 04:43 PM

All you should need for an r34 6speed knob would be a 12x1.25 to 10x1.25 thread adapter which you can buy already, I really doubt they will make an adapter for an automatic knob.

Take that back sick speed sells m10x1.5 adapters so that wont work. What you need is to geta a m10x1.25 helicoil insert and that will thread into the gtr 6speed knob. Then screw it onto the z shifter

^ Damn that is a nice knob. That would look really nice in the Z, too bad it says GTR and not Z34 or something. GTM take a look, that would win my vote, and come in way under $200.

Damn I think I might have to just order one of these.

This adapter is exactly what I wanted! Thank you!!

Edit: that's for the R34 6MT. I'm looking for an adapter for the R35 auto shift knob, but may have to settle for the R34 instead.

Matt@GTM 12-05-2013 07:42 PM

I can say with confidence that we will not make an adapter for the automatic R35 knob on the 6mt. It is simply an issue of not enough demand. Also once again we are not going to be doing any asymmetrical shaped knobs since they would take much longer and would be priced too high. I will probably be resetting the poll at the end of the week with the top 5 or so knobs and eventually I would like to get it down to just 2 or 3 designs. It also looks like it shouldn't be too much trouble to ship them in a little velvet pouch that could be used to cover the metal knobs while parked on a hot day.

carlitos_370z 12-05-2013 08:50 PM

Im in... Just take those 5 and make the poll lol

Matt@GTM 12-09-2013 03:20 PM

The poll has been reset with the top 5 knobs, we are hopefully trying to get it down to just 2 to keep this from getting too complicated. See first post for more details.

already vote again :)

1slow370 12-11-2013 03:27 PM

Bumping this to get more votes in so we can get this going, changed my vote to number 5 this time :)

cooltoy 12-11-2013 03:42 PM

2 or 5. Covered in leather.

Masterbeatty 12-11-2013 06:12 PM

black chrome or black brushed with a red or orange GTM logo. Or with a red or orange shift gate.

anthony909 12-12-2013 12:04 AM

Black chrome sounds nice to me

equalme 12-14-2013 01:47 AM

carlitos_370z 12-19-2013 11:58 AM

Come people let make the votes :)

Ryguy 01-13-2014 12:05 AM

Is there any news on these shift knobs?

SPOHN 01-13-2014 04:33 AM

When are you guys going to learn? If GTM is behind it you have a better chances waiting on death before there parts coming out.

Matt@GTM 01-14-2014 02:48 AM

There are about enough votes in, I was hoping knob 1 would edge out knob 2, but from the poll looks like I will be making 2 and 5. I have located a supplier for the heavy alloy so I will work on finalizing those two designs and starting production. I will get back in a couple days here with the eventual pricing and available finishes, but the knobs will not be up for sale until I have them machined and ready for whatever finish is ordered. I've been busy with work on some prototype stuff on my car last 4-5 weekends so I've just been letting the votes pile up. I plan on making 15-30 of each of the 2 knobs so availability won't be a problem rough guesstimate right now is $80-150 depending on finish but that is a ROUGH estimate.

Matt@GTM 01-25-2014 11:37 PM

ok here is a so far list of finishes

Machined gold
polished gold
powder coated
optional chrome plating (satin or gloss)

*Thinking of seeing if I can get the knobs rubberized if there is enough interest.

G37Sam 01-26-2014 12:58 AM

Do you know if this knob will fit an RB25 shifter? The RB25 uses a M10X1.25 thread size.

Also, will you be able to commit to a delivery date before we send out our money?

Matt@GTM 01-26-2014 01:44 AM

I will be getting this up to the point of the customer ordered finish before we start selling them so it will be, pay for knob -> send knob out for finish ordered -> ship knob. Some of the finishes like the chromes will need to be run in batches so the wait time for those will be longer than the others that do not have a batch size, as for powder coating I cannot guarantee the color accuracy for non standard colors at this point yet, though i want to look into getting our powder coater to offer these for this and other powder coated parts just don't know if it is going to pan out. I do know the machined and polished gold finishes will have a much shorter turnaround and will most likely be the cheapest.

It is the same thread size so I would guess it would fit an RB25 shifter but since i do not have an rb25 shifter, knob, and boot I can't say for sure. The RB's are something we almost never see here. The fitment would be almost exactly he same as a 370z/g37 knob so if your stock knob fits good on the rb shifter than most likely it would.
