Opinions on this car color....
So I just got my car back from being wrapped in brushed metal blue. Here is how it turned out.
Im kind of bummed though cuz the blue is WAY deeper than I had hoped and how the sample looked "in the sun". It lightens up in the sun but when its cloudy and dark outside it looks purple, and that's the first thing people are saying when they see it. What really sucks is the brushed metal wrap was $1000 more than the regular. Wondering what others think of the color. http://www.the370z.com/members/topgu...e73865-251.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/topgu...125-091924.jpg |
Might give an opinion if the picture wasn't so blurry... Unless it's my screen of course.
|
Not your screen^
I like it, I can see how it'd look purple in that lighting. |
I'd want way brighter... Sorry...
|
Not really digging it  But if you like it, that's all that matters :tiphat:
|
Ok. Edited the pictures so its not blurry.
Maybe its cuz my car was initially black so with the overlay it turned darker....??? At first I was going to go white, but there are so many white cars on the streets. Blue is one of the rarest. But Im not fond of the OEM 370z blue. Pretty much wanted a Yamaha blue. |
Ya.....I see how it looks purple. Not an ideal color for me (since you asked for opinions). At least it is unique!
|
a whole car pic would help... but i dont think its bad.
|
Good color if it was going to be in shows and such, Not so great as a daily I guess.
|
I personally wouldn't get that color as a daily..
But there ain't nothin wrong with a little purple. http://s11.postimg.org/nur86k1w3/plate.jpg |
if I were to do a wrap, I would go with this seafoam/mint green:

I dont think it looks bad. It does look a little purplish though.
|
How about posting an overall (full car side) picture and in different lighting conditions.
Looks like these were taken in a low level sun / overcast perhaps. Also might consider some accents in flat black along skirts and the rear end stock diffuser. Just a thought. Quite like this |
Here are some more pics. Has gotten a little brighter outside as the day goes on.

the big contrast between the polished/silver (spokes, door handles, headlights) is probably emphasizing the darker blue even more.
if you're not going to unwrap it, might suggest getting your wheels painted to a solid bronze or gunmetal, darken the door handles and headlights. should look good. also maybe put a few decals on there to add some sparkle. |
A Lakers fan in Denver. That'll go over well. Go Lakers!
:) |
Holy Christ, it's purple. Not blue

BTW-I like it. :) |
Its different. I dont love it or hate it. My wrap ended up looking way different then the sample as well.. Sounds like thats just the way it goes
|
It's different, doesn't look bad. Think if you switch up the wheels (color at least) might look better. If you have the oem's throw them on real quick and post up a pic or two, I think wheels make all the difference.
|
I like it!
|
Sure looks like purple, but I think it looks good as it is :)
|
I kind of like it, but if you don't that's all that matters,
|
i like it. However, IMO, you need different wheels to make the color of the wrap pop more. Like wheels that are all silver. You also need a drop and properly spaced wheels and i think it will all come together nicely.

Hey Topgunz,
As a follow up, I realized your location is Denver totally skipped that in your signature. Looks like today is a nice day and sunny out. How about some shots in better lighting conditions! Also would like to know if you could share which custom shop did you get the wrap and/or body work done. Perhaps we can do a meet up in springtime love to see this wrap up close. Thanks in advance. |

Yeah I am going to snap a few pics over lunch break and upload them here. The sun is out in full effect so should change the shade of the blue. I am in Parker about once a month. Have a good friend that lives there. We could meet up before spring unless you hibernate your car in the winter months here....but hell, I was wakeboarding in February last year. The place I got my wrap done is fairly close to you in Englewood. Right across from PT's stripclub...lol.. ITs called Premier Graphics and the owner Tyler is a super awesome guy. I highly recommend this shop. You can get it done cheaper elsewhere but I can guarantee they will not take the time to pay attention to detail as Tyler and his crew do. They even did a little bondo work for free since the stillen front requires it. They have lots of pictures of them with local Pro sports players and their rides. He also did my window tinting with 3M for only $160. Which is a steal. All around incredible place to take your business. |
it looks unique dude. throw her in some shows and enjoy the attention!

What size spacers do you recommend? |
I actually think it looks good  it's more purple like others have mentioned which isn't a bad thing
|
Here is the other color I was looking at going with. It is a brushed steel. They also have brushed aluminum and brushed metal. Only reason I didn't just get this brushed steel is because its pretty close to the silver my 350z was.
If I pull my wrap Ill be looking at going either with this or maybe just a plain old white. This was done by Tyler also. http://www.the370z.com/members/topgu...-img953875.jpg |

You got a great price on the tint, just got mine done at Lynx Customs for $240 with 3m Color Stable 20% but had some small wraps of Carbon to the B pillars done as well. I would keep that Blue (Purple) for now sounds like you invested some pretty good monies there. Enjoy it for a while, pretty sure it will grow on you, it is unique no matter what. Let's keep in touch and see if we can find a time / place to meet up, I drive the car when weather permits, but wait usually for a few days after snow to get the "junk off the road" . Still need a clear bra applied soon :) Let's see some cool pics in the sun, also how "deep" did they wrap around the doors wells? Just curious.... |
Ok. So I figured it would lighten up in the sun but had no idea it would as much as it did.
Check these out.... http://www.the370z.com/members/topgu...87-bluside.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/topgu...73885-blu1.jpg http://www.the370z.com/members/topgu...6-blulines.jpg |
That looks a whole lot better. Still a little too "blurple" for me, but 100% better than the first pics.
|
|
Wow that brightened up quite a bit !
Love that "brush" glistening through. |
Thanks. And cameras, especially some phone cam, can only pick up so much detail. In person the brushed finish stands out way more.
Maybe we could meet up at PT's since we both know where that is. :happydance: |
I like the color and I like it when the color looks different under different light. My old '95 Miata was Montego Blue and it looked green in most lights. I loved that color!
|
Looks Good in the sun. Also :iagree: that I like the fact that it looks different in different light.
