Some jack hole spray painted the rear quarter of my car. Is there anything I can do or am I looking at a repaint?!

ka24king 11-18-2013 04:47 PM

Wow wtf!

kenchan 11-18-2013 04:48 PM

wow... :eekdance:

claybar, then polish. should come off.

dP3NGU1N 11-18-2013 05:18 PM

You may be able to get it off with acetone, should dissolve the spray paint but don't soak your panel in it (shouldn't be an issue but might as well spell it out).

Waiz 11-18-2013 05:31 PM

Wow :(

+1 that a polish would probably take that out or find a friend with an orbital buffer

Where did this happen?

RyanWest 11-18-2013 05:38 PM

You can easily fix this

blackcherry20 11-18-2013 06:14 PM

Omg. That's awful. :(

Elan 11-18-2013 08:12 PM

Wow some people just shouldn't be alive on this planet...Sorry buddy. :( It should come right off with some suggestions people have mentioned. No need for a repaint.

DEpointfive0 11-18-2013 08:16 PM

No acetone! But get yourself some lacquer thinner, it'll come off in 5 seconds, you'll be SHOCKED. And without damaging your clear coat

Somebody needs to be put on ice.

zmanelite 11-18-2013 09:17 PM

Just use Gas and a rag
Be sure to polish and re-wax the finish when you are done

Wabbyyy 11-18-2013 10:40 PM

Wow. That's unbelivable. Sorry to hear this. Just buy some high grade polish and buff it out. Should wipe right off. Maybe even try rubbing compound and rub it off with a microfiber towel?

Riptide67 11-18-2013 10:48 PM

Everyone has posted some good tips. My buddy dropped a can of white paint and it splashed on my car. It removes easily.

synolimit 11-18-2013 10:56 PM

Wow **** that guy!

At least he used paint. I had to remove paint one time and found a can of "spray paint" at Home Depot and it ate it like hydrochloric acid on someone's flesh. I said to myself I hope no kids ever find this stuff cause it will jack a cars paint to the sheet metal in 2 minutes flat.

CarbonSignal 11-19-2013 12:33 AM

Lacquer thinner is a good suggestion, else I suggest a good compound polish and wax will clear normal spray paints, as wont advise using any chemicals if you haven't done this before.

Or if you can just take it some detailer he can fix it will charge you but better then damaging the clear coat if you try yourself.
