Trust us on this. Please.

Lacquer thinner is ok to use more like same as silicone remover, but if you read my post I suggested take it to a deatailer if OP doesn't know what he is doing. Anything either thinner, clay, compound polish if not done in right amount/way will damage the paint, unfortunately Nissan has one of the worst paints in the market

Hopefully you can somehow magically catch this person and teach him a lesson..keep at it with the claybar

If you use lacquer thinner, please post pictures. UNtil I see physical proof otherwise, there is no way I would put lacquer thinner on a car. Paint thinner/mineral spirits is a whole different story. That may be your best bet.

Gas additives are almost the same ingredients as lacquer thinner, lol

It's just something a lot of people have in their garage

I've used about 2/3 of my clay bar but I'm happy that I've at least made some progress and there's hope that I can get everything off and it will look decent with just the cost of a clay bar and several hours of my time.

If this doesn't do it you may want to try a NanoSkin scrubber:

I've replaced my claybars with this and been really happy with the results. I've never tried to remove paint this thick, but it works great on overspray. 1/4 of the time and much easier on your arm - assuming you have a rotary or orbital buffer to attach it to.

I ended up using some mineral spirits last night. I got all of the paint off but it looks like there's definitely some scuff marks that I'm hoping a polish will take care of. That will have to wait until the spring though.

Edit: I'll take some pics this weekend when I'm able to get some in the sun.
