I plan on tieing the light together after c&c this weekend. I'll post up the outcome

Here is the Daytime Running Lights System wiring diagram. I hope this is what you were looking for M3chhawk.

I might be able to work with this. Need a 2013 relay/fuse diagram for the box under the hood.

Any joys with this idea?

Anyone done this yet? I bought the kit, but mainly for the LEDs. I had bought different LEDs earlier but they turned out two bluish for my taste. The ones that came with the kit match the DRLs dead on in color (in my opinion). Guess I'll have to do it. Anyone?

So I did what the installation guide said and it works to some degree. The DRLs do turn on when the headlights are on, but if the car is off and you turn it on and just release the e-break, the DRLs turn on along with the parking, rear tail and the license plate lights. That was not what I had in mind, so I ended up taking it off. Don't know if it's the way my car is wired, but in the iJDMtoy page it doesn't mention anything about the rear tail lights and the license plates lights turning on.

Nope thats the way it will work without the diode. When the headlights are on it will use the running light circuit to power the leds. If you turn on the leds only without the diode it will also feed to rest of the running light on the same circuit. Putting the diode on the power line to the leds will prevent the electricity from feeding out, only in, if that makes sense. .

You lost me Roadster. I was explaining what happened to me after installing the iJDMtoy kit (the two quick splices with the wire). Anyway I think I'll leave it stock for now.

Did his kit come with the diodes?

RoadsterST 02-20-2014 08:45 PM

You mind sending a picture of the instructions for the splicing?

The kit comes with two LED bulbs (that match the DRLs in color perfectly), two quick splices and a piece of cable. In the first post is a link to the installation page, but basically all you have to do is splice the green wire from the parking lights to the red wire from the DRLs. But as I found out it doesn't quite work right. Here's a pic of the kit.

RoadsterST 02-20-2014 08:58 PM

Ok so he doesn't include and diodes, that's why all the lights come on when just the LED's are on

So, if anyone has a better idea to make the DRLs come on with the headlights but still keeping the stock function of lowering the e-break and only the DRLs to come on would be great.

Kabestro 02-27-2014 07:15 AM

So, my parking lights stopped working today. I'm gonna check if the positive cable that I spliced got damaged a lot, because not even the small orange lights on the side turn on.

I just cut the OEM wires for the LEDs, grounded the grounds and ran the powers to the fuse box to a switched 12v source running off a 10 amp fuse. 6 months, 6000 miles without issue.
