Stripes?

Hey guys, hear me out... I traded a 06Mustang GT, for a 2010 370Z. On the Mustang, I had Mustang Gt custom stripes put on the side, (not like the V6). It looked great. On the lower side valance, if you had a custom stripe, that went from the front tire, to the rear tire, and flared out at the end, to follow the contour of the body, and in the flare have a Z, cut out, or added, to match the side emblem. This would tend to give some attention to the side of the Z. I have read post about stripes, not well received, except this one red Z, w/ a white stripe, that had something similiar. I have a 2010 PG, w/ 40th wheels. I was thinking a stripe, the color of the wheels. What do you think? :stirthepot:

Difficult for me to visualize. Maybe one of the Photoshop gurus can mock something up.

Perhaps you want something like this? 370z Gt Edition :) https://encrypted-tbn3.gstatic.com/i...-Hhh4fBu-bewkT

Maybe you should have saved your $$ and put Nismo stickers on your Mustang!

LostSol 10-22-2013 09:21 AM

Its a Z, not a mustang. No stripes.

Arrvaxx 10-22-2013 09:38 AM

I don't think a tasteful line like the GT shown is all that bad. I would puke all over a big center stripe though.

canes7 10-22-2013 10:16 AM

Well.. you asked.. and no opinion is invalid, but stripes on a Z just doesn't do it for me. Too cheesey, fake, rice'ish looking for me.

Justice97 10-22-2013 10:21 AM

Ewww stripes......

All I am gonna say.

I like it, too. :tiphat: It doesn't detract from the lines of the car.

I don't think the bumper-to-bumper, across the top "old style" racing stripes looks that good on the 370, even if it looked great on the 2xxZ's.

I'd say go for it. And PLEASE look into using plasti-dip in case it looks like *** then you can simply remove it.

Amuse370z 10-22-2013 12:18 PM

I like the nismo stripes tbh. I saw a white z in person and it looked great

Maybe consider that?

kenchan 10-22-2013 01:19 PM

i like my stripes on the side of my car. it's on the rockers and completely clear. :icon17:

aka clearbra.

Vichtz 10-22-2013 02:01 PM

It depends. Some look terrible, others
look ok. Your car, you decide. However, my advice is to stay away from top stripes. Those 2 side stripes between the hood and wheel are pretty cool though, and rocker panel aren't too bad.

If you like stripes then go ahead and get some on your car. My vote is no stripes. Like others have said it isn't a Mustang. I think the cleaner, non-stripe look is better for sure.

03heritage 10-22-2013 03:55 PM

Vichtz, the red z, was what I was talking about. My thot was below the door, lower valance, and flare at the end. Flaring to a wider section, at the end, in front of the rear wheel. "Z" in the wider section. Not so noticable. PG W/ smoky grey stripes. Thanks for the reply.

simota1 10-22-2013 04:06 PM

i like my stripes... both before and now...

Common man!

Wonka2581 10-30-2013 11:09 PM

Why does the Yellow one have a rear wiper blade? I thought our cars didnt have a rear blade,

cooltoy 10-30-2013 11:29 PM

Europe and Japan.

tnav 10-31-2013 08:48 PM

yeah I actually traded my 1980 Firedbird for my current 2012 Z and added the eagle on the hood of the Z, common man!!!, why add stripes, leave the Z alone or get your Mustang back!!! HAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!

CC QUIK 10-31-2013 10:52 PM

stripes have been on Z's since the 70's. LOL!

Justice97 10-31-2013 10:53 PM

I think stripes were created because everyone had the same car and they needed a way to stand out or be different than every other (insert common car name here).

If you own a Z, you stand out.
If you stripe it, you become just another (insert common car name here) owner.

Fountainhead 11-01-2013 03:34 PM

Stripe or no stripe is beginning to sound like iOS vs Android.....

kenchan 11-01-2013 03:43 PM

im glad no one's pin striping our Z's... at least not that i know of... :ugh:

cooltoy 11-01-2013 03:57 PM

I think it's like most things, if it's done right, it can look right but it's so a personal preference.
I'm having mine done today, well sections wrapped as opposed to stripes but it's a very personal choice as to what looks good, in my humble opinion.

Hey mal1721, be sure to share :pics: when you get it done. I'm with you as long as your happy with it , As far as
