Speaking for just my set, only the edges are actually sealed to the fabric. After going around it in circles to warm it up for a few minutes with a hair dryer, I did find cutting a slice in the 'puffed' up section (anything but the edges), so i could get a grab on some of it for leverage, and pry it up, working the edges very slowly. If you pull to fast, you will just break the material off, leaving no leverage to pull the rest of it up. When its pulling off, it almost feels like its 'stitched' to the fabric. Sorry, but this thread was not suppose to turn into a DIY, and I'm not the best at giving instructions. :icon14: |
Gents:
I count myself among those who find those yellow warning labels tacky and distracting. So today I removed the label from one visor, using the hair dryer method discussed above. I regret to report that the result was unsatisfactory. I have a 2017 roadster, and I think the label adhesion has changed since earlier models. The entire label is glued on (not just the edges), and it's a bear to remove, pulling off tiny scrap after tiny scrap. It took an hour do to this, and then I was left with a rectangle of sticky residue. It would not clean off with rubbing alcohol, and goof-off started to melt the plastic. What's worse, all that time with the hair dryer slightly stretched parts of the plastic, so the whole thing looks pretty beat up. I just finished ordering a replacement visor from ebay (used) for $60. My advice to you is not to try removing the label. If you find it really distracting, cover it up with something. Cheers! |
