I had always just thought that was where the sensor was located so putting the key there brought it close enough to be read one low battery. Has anyone done

I had always just thought that was where the sensor was located so putting the key there brought it close enough to be read one low battery. Has anyone done this and gone from low battery to not needing to put the key in the hole after?

There's been a couple times that I needed to insert it to start the car, and it was fine for a good while afterwards. So idk why exactly it needed the key inserted but it did.
