NOFATCHX 05-12-2013 09:39 AM

Careful. Matte white can stain easily, don't let any residue, dirty, tree pollen or bird **** sit for to long.

raymondo510 05-12-2013 10:04 AM

Very cool

NickTurnon 05-12-2013 10:39 AM

Sexy! In for finished pics.

Getting around those emblems looks tricky. Cut & tuck.

Why'd you send pictures of the carbon fiber?

Your pictures show white around those emblems...

Am I missing something?

HE probably had CF wrap before and that is when he got the practice. That's the way I read it anyway.

Xplicit97 05-12-2013 05:38 PM

He's been practicing with carbon wrap, his hood, roof, pillars and hatch will be carbon. Everything else is matte white, looks absolutely sick in person. Pictures don't do it justice. Ill be getting mine done by James too

How much material do you need to get the whole car done? I've been toying with the idea of knocking it out some weekend. Is it possible for just anyone to do it if they take their time? Or do you need to have uber skills? What else do you need for the job? Tools? Adhesives? How do you secure it around sharp bends? Like the edges of the hood? Thanks

zefaulter 05-14-2013 07:31 AM

I want to know the answer to that as well. Probably need someone to help you out at least

AlexRaymond19 05-14-2013 07:42 AM

Im thinking of getting a 50ft roll. How wide do I need it?

Not sure how much you need as I've never actually done it myself, but I'm familiar with the procedure. It is possible to do it if you take your time and plan things out first. For tools you'd need a razor to cut the material, a flat plastic squeegee, and a heat gun. Probably a few other thing that could make it easier too, but I can't think of them. Adhesive is on the back of the wrap so you just lay it down and heat gun it. For corners just wrap it around and then botch out the corner of the material so that it's not all folded over on itself.

5ft by 75 ft is full roll. I would say 5ft by 50ft. I used about 300ft of vinyl to practice before I started my car. Putting it on is easy. cutting is the hard part. I've been tinting windows for 12years. I cut films all day long. I'm also Certified 3M ppf installer. But Cutting vinyl on the edge to look pretty is never feels easy!

I would recommend you to Go take a class which is about $500.

Im going to get a short amount. take my bumper off and do that. If i can't manage that then i will give up and let the pros do it. I think if you can get the front bumper down, i think you can get the rest of the car. Thoughts?

Don't take it out all the way. You want your bumper to stay still . when you are repositing the vinyl Its gonna be a pain the ***. Just do the Roof or hood so much easier and Faster say to learn

So you cut the edges flush? You don't wrap around the bends?

Over wrap about 2inches and seal all the edges . then cut it . I guess how much to cut Is totally up to you.

TenaciousZ 05-16-2013 08:40 AM

Hopefully someone with expierence can back me up on this but its probably because all the crazy lines make the z a ****** to wrap.

Take a square little civic and have that thing wrapped in no time.
