Higher seating than stock is a no go for me. My head nearly touches the headliner now.

i have the red status seats on the car. FO rails do fit the ring GT. However, the side mounts from Bride need to be bent slightly. Also, if your tall, the seat will rub the door. so if you slide the seat all the way back, it will rub the door.

Bride FO rails seat much lower than stock!! about 3-4cm lower

goddamit

how bad is the door rubbing? :(

FuszNissan 05-11-2013 09:51 PM

Uh..I've had the Ring GT's for years..no rubbing and zero issues

edconline 05-11-2013 10:02 PM

The rubbing depends on how far forward or back the seat is

which rails are you using? im really want to get rid of the rubbing

btw with planted seat rails and base, you wont rub!
and there was a member that got a planted seat base that wasn't leveled. i called Status and they got me a leveled planted seat rail right away!! Michael at Status was very helpful throughout the buying process

I am using Status rails,( which are 3-way height adjustable) Status Sliders, and Wedge Engineering base.

Personally, I didn't like the seating position with the planted seat base and status side mount. Universal sliders also adds quite a bit of height.

With some research, you should be able to find a different brand that offers lower sitting position. I went with bride FO rails and it fits my "ring" seat with minor modification.

Nice looking seats. I see you have the 40th anniversary door panels. How's that red match to the seats?

There is almost nothing wrong with the side mount, and honestly, I love the look of the status side mount. It is somewhat brushed aluminum look. However, with the universal rails and planted seat base, it adds a god amount of height.

From what I understand, Status is not planning on making their own seat base with built in rails. But they may be working on it

I have great news for all, Buddy Club released recently the low down seat rails for fixed back seats. i had these in my 350z and when i bought my Status seats they were not available and the planted brackets/bases are garbage! I ended up selling my status seats because no good rails were out.

Heres a link, you wont be dissapointed... You can go lower or stock height with the options of the rails. Quality is nice and they are really light compared to the planted bases/brackets.

Nice find. With the various types of status seats (or any seat really), the side mount bolts are spaced closer or further apart, so I'm assuming they intend for the side mount portion of the bracket to bend in or out to adjust for this?

The side mounts have like a 2-3 inch swivel zone that you can slide back and forth to accomodate for any seat...

The advantage with the buddy club vs Bride FO rails or the unlevel planted bases is that the buddy club rails for the left and right side are seperate. What this means is it can accomodate any width seat and isnt stuck with the max setting of whatever bracket/base is with the rails and brackets it comes with. (I hope everyone understands what im saying) it can easily be seen in the pics of the brackets

the red seats are a brighter red and door panels are darker red.
they dont match but still blend in just fine
