Ceramic Non Metallic is the way to go to get the best uv protection from a tint without Nav interference.

I've personally used in the past Huper Optik tint, And was very happy with the look, And performance of the tint.

Albeit pricey? YES but you get what you're paying for IMO

Im a firm believer in paying the higher dollar for better quality. I just also know that a lot of things out there are buzzwords and gimmics just to charge more.

Thanks for the input Trip! Do you have it on your Z?

Also i was quoted 360 (thats including the removal of my current tint)

No, I used to have it on my old bimmer.

I had done a lot of research and in Huper Optik's case? They were at that time the BEST tint available back in 05

I had the tint for 4 years and had no problems and would use that brand again if I were to need tint.

I've heard of Formula One and thats another good brand, But I've got no personal experience with them.

I can't speak in spec but can only advise on what I know from experience, And that is

IF You have a Nav? You are advised NOT to use the metallic version

For the most part I feel Nowadays ceramic non metallic should should be the standard

Ceramic is the way to go blocks 100% of the UV and if I remember correctly 65% of the heat.. A buddy of mine has a tint shop locally and he recommends ceramic, it's a bit more expensive depending where you go and connections but well worth it. I'm getting my tint swapped out for ceramic soon.

Huper Optiks makes bolder claims about the heat. I think they claim like 75 or 80%. Real or not it sold me. I have it on my car. Lol

You can feel the difference with keeping the interior cooler with ceramic. These things have great heat rejection. I have it on my other car and it really performs. H Optik is pricey.

If they're charging you a hefty sum on tint removal, you can save money by taking it off yourself. You're in CA so the warm weather works on your side. Let your car sit under the sun for 20 - 30 minutes. Spray water on the inside of the windows and completely cover with brown garbage bag. The bags will cling to the window. Ensure full coverage. Do the same on the outside. Let it sit for 15 - 20 minutes. These will loosen the adhesive. Work one window at a time, remove the bag, and using a blade, peel off from one corner, and once you have enough to grip with you fingers, start peeling the tint off. This process will leave little to no residue.

I did this after a fix it ticket for having tints on the front.

That works very well, I may suggest... A little soap in the water? (I forgot to be honest)

And WalMart sells some half assed kit to take it off for $5-8
