I would just report it. Once you paint a different bumper or buy a same color one its going to cost you more with shipping. Hopefully it gets fixed, sucks that people don't own up to their mistakes.

I park as far as possible and depending on how vacant the Lot is I might even take up two spots (again in the far back area).

unfortunately, parking far away creates another problem: it invites thiefs to steal stuff from your car.

Don't claim something that simple to the insurance. They will put it as an accident on the cars title. It won't show what was done or what happened only as an accident. That will kill your resale value. Eat the damages and move on....and hope one day you find the douchebag who hit your car.

Thats why I don't leave anything in my car. Literally, its cleaned out each time I leave it. Nothing but a car seat, insurance, & floor mats

I am more extreme than you are. If I had to park somewhere longer than 10 minutes, I would drive my DD. I lost trust in people a long time ago :eek:

Not always true. I have no accident on my title, and had the rear bumper and tail light replaced. Will not count as an accident unless it is over a certain amount of money, and or reported as such by the police. Cosmetic claims should not count as an accident on your title, only structural damage, or costs above a certain percentage of the vehicles value

Especially in his situation, you can not say with 100% accuracy that the damage was caused from a car. Might have been someone out to damage it on purpose
