Clear-bra cost question

Not to try to argue, but I'm not even getting 1/4 of the car done.

Parts covered:
1/2 front fenders
front bumper
hood and mirrors

Parts not covered:
1/2 front fenders
pillars
doors
skirts
rear fenders
roof
rear bumper
trunk
spoiler and splash guards

It's not about the price I want, but the price of the product (3M Premium 8mm per yd. incl 20% markup) and cost of labor(unless they pay over $20/hr). We're not even looking at lettering (which could explain the jump in price per character if not by yardage)

I've spent over 2 years working professional signage and even produced quotes and won bids on local police department contracts for the business. Mid-America Airport and the Gateway Speedway outside St.Louis were all my work. Every last baggage carrier and response vehicle. Every sign for the lot and sign in the entryway at the speedway.

I agree that there must be more places here in CLT to get it done. I'll just have to spend a little more time looking. Again, this was way back in the mid 90's, so I'm most likely out of the loop on product costs.

Thanks for the replies guys. I was just hoping to find that I was being 'duped'. It appears that it seems pretty standard for cost unless I find 'a guy'.

(side story I always reflect on in humor: my boss bought himself a new Cobra on those bids, I got a $1/hr raise [plus the experience and work towards my apprenticeship])

I was refering to my car being half a car wrap. So for $1k I think what I got done was right, for you like I stated should be around $600-700. Reading is mental. Here one last time, $600-700 for what you are looking to get done should right about right. That and you mentioned mid 90's, alot has changed, but I still stand by $600-700 for what you are wanting, based on what I have seen recently.

I paid around 1400 for front bumper, mirrors, roof banner (a section just above the front windshield), rocker panel patches and I think patches on the rear wheel arch fronts. And window tint for sides/rear.

They said that they have 2 roll sizes, and had to use the bigger size (more $) for the bumper wrap to keep it one piece. They also tried to minimize cuts for the wrapping the fangs and other odd shaped areas on the front bumper which caused bubbling so I asked them to insert cuts for better fitment.

I would not go back to a place that has not yet done a front bumper of a 370z or if they hadn't worked with tight, tricky angles.

Dude my first one they tried to tell me that with the cuts. It wasnt long before a large bubble formed on one of the fangs. Took it back and told them dont cut it this time, use promoter and use one peice. Hasnt come loose yet now. Looks better too.

That's one thing I was worried about with pre-cut. Good to know. I may just purchase the raw material and pay a local installer to swing by for $20/hr off the books and help me with it. That should save me $350-$400 off the quote I received although I won't have the option of going back if something happens.

Im in Charlotte as well and just got my Z a couple weeks ago. I checked a place in the crown point area off Independence. Very knowledgeable guys working there and they had a couple cars they were working on that I got to look at. They wanted $800.00 to do the bumper, partial hood, mirrors, rear quarters and 1/4 of the roof. I also checked for tinting they wanted $250 for tinting or 1K for the package.

I thought it was a little high myself, they were a 3M dealer but were not using their product for clear bra applications because they had so many warrranty issues with 3M.
