Taillight Paint Tint
Looking to get my tail lights done, and was quoted for about 250 to get all three lights done on my 2012 Z. Is this reasonable?? Custom car work is all new to me, but I'd like to start doing some things and figured you are the people to ask
Thanks, |

thats way too much. u have a few options here:
1. bring your business elsewhere, this should be a $40-$80 job in my experience. i have a shop where i know the guy and he does this kinda stuff for free, i just gotta tip him for the work 2. do it yourself for like $5, there is a product called vht niteshade. u can buy this at advanced auto or any auto place. you can control the darkness but this option is permanent. look up a tutorial on youtube. 3. buy tint film yourself, there is a guy on the forum here who goes by the name bluebatmobile who sells pre-cut sections of tint for your tail lights. it simply sticks on and if you arent happy with it it peels off with a small amount of heat. you can even buy these pre-cut sections and have a professional at a tint shop do it for you. good luck man dont overpay for a simple job like this |

wait a minute man i just realized youre in orlando! i have a buddy who has a shop called HID Pro and they would LOVE to hook you up. they're on east colonial and would charge a lot cheaper to do this. ive had them do all kinds of stuff to my Z including a full roof vinyl and other tint jobs. ask for eric.

ive used testor's paint thinner for metalized paint to remove nightshades in the past.
test it on a piece of plastic away from your car first to see. one would have to spray gloss over it though to make it look nice. well, unless the matte/satin look is preferred. overlay would be my choice too. on my dd im running overlay on my taillamp. looks great. |

Threads like this make me REALLY happy, new guy to the forum, new to modding...
Shop is going to bend the OP over... We all step in and say, NO... And suggest other shops that we KNOW do good work OP, either overlay it from BlueBat, or pay less to have it painted Also, give these guys some rep for being awesome! Lastly, see if you want a JDM tail light first, so they can paint all 4 at once! |

are you doing a vinyl tint or a spray tint?
my tinter quoted me $200 to do film tint and about $100 to do the spray honestly if your place is charging you that much to spray, just DIY, its not hard |
