Guys that used a dye pen for fabric seats, please give me advice!

I cant seem to just color the thread it also touches the fabric next to the thread, how did you guys do this? im using the 3mm deco fabric pen

how hard are the seat covers to take off if i had someone rethread them in yellow?

most people just color the thread in small sections then wipe away to make the pen on the fabric as faintly noticeable as possible. Your other option would be to put down some tape on either side of the thread and then paint the thread. Its a lot of work this way though.

Rethreading would cost a few hundred bucks or more most likely, i cant be too sure but i would just do the pen.

i actually started before i got into my accident and of course the 2 parts i finished were destroyed in my accident lol fml

When i did my stitch dye, I took my time and did each individual loop of thread. I got way too impatient, and just started painting it on like a brush stroke. Even though the pen touched the black cloth on the door and the seat, you couldn't tell the black was dyed. Black is black.

For the faux-leather sections, I did the same method, and dabbed the over-drawn sections with a cloth to pick up the dye on the surface. Worked great.

cool, thanks guys. I might try the tape idea.I am doing yellow so it shows up a little more than other colors would on the black seat.Are guys just doing the thread or the actual seat to? Like just the lumbar sections
