Robispec Harness Bar Install

Hi all. This is for the Robispec Harness Bar Install. Instead of doing a complete detail write on removing the interior panels. Others have all ready done it. So I'm skipping that part. But I'm posting a link to what Dustin@Z1 did. It's an excellent write on it.

This is the Robispec with the aluminium spacers on the ends. That you will use.

Once you have the stock bar out. Put your spacer plates that was on the end of the Robispec harness bar in place on the frame bracket sticking out. The bar and spacer plates ONLY go in one way. They WILL NOT fit the other way. THE ROUNDED PART OF THE SPACER PLATE IS ON TOP! SAME WITH THE BAR! My bar went in tight. Thought for awhile that I might have to use a porti-power to jack the frame apart. Had the bar in backwards. Turned the bar around. And it was still on the tight side. But it went in. I put the driver side spacer in first. Next I put the bar in. Raised up the right side alittle and dropped the that spacer into place. Align the bolt holes, and used the bolts that came with the bar.

Next. In the first picture. PUT THAT PIECE IN FIRST, before the other panels. Other wise you WILL BE CUSSIN"! Then reassemble your interior. Play attention to the clips and screws that you took out the how they fasten. and there you go. All done. :D

Very nice!

So is this a suitable solution for using racing harnesses now?

I don't see it on their website, where do you guys order it from?

Btw, how long did the install take?

martin82 09-11-2012 06:28 PM

I can do it in about 4 hours now. Since I know how the interior comes apart now. :D

It's a red bar that's behind the seats. What more can I say. LOL It's stronger then the cheezy stock piece I took out. It has solid mounting to the frame that the stock bar didn't have. And it looks good.

I just ordered mine today too :) Do you plan on adding harnesses/seats also? I have Sparco Pro 2000 seats now and just purchased Takata harnesses with snap in mounts linked in the other Robispec chassis/harness bar thread on page 3.
