Haha! Cool! Thanks for the update.

Got my sideblades installed today.. and nope they do not fit at all with the mudflaps unless you have the rear of the sideblade sticking out a bit :/ Sucks I was looking forward to keeping my mudflaps..
http://a7.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphot...23596616_n.jpg Makes me feel like it's so plain without them now lol |
Haha! Your car looks good with them on regarless but yes, there is just something nice about having the front splash guards installed with the blades on. I will try to find a solution to it and I will find a way.

Or you could have gone with the Ings+1 side blades which has kind of that look to it. I don't know why more people don't get these...

Those are some great looking side blades for sure.
|
Yup they are nice indeed but you will have to cough up a good amount of money for them as they are a direct buy from Japan. Evo-r is the economical route if you want to go with just blades.
For the amount of money the Ings blades costs you might as well get yourself a whole new side skirt. Not worth the cost to me. |
INGs isnt' the kind of look I was looking for, I do love my Evo R sideblades regardless but dissapointed that the mudguards won't fit haha. Especially since most of the Z's in my area don't have mudguards, it was kind of special having them. I googled it yesterday and the guy with the blue Z had a different brand of sideblades that aren't from Evo R. Can't find the thread anymore but I bet you if you look hard enough on google you can find the thread and the brand he was talking about

(my car is the first one) the aerojacket ones look better with the splash guards since they taper off in the front a bit. the evo-r ones are too long and wide for the side blades to fit nicely |
^ thanks for making my car look like crap :p
|
But is Aerojacket still a valid member? There were many bad comments made about this vendor in these forums. Having said that, it does not leave many choices out there. I had previously looked for the Aerojacket blades but with so many negative comments made, it made me look other way.

Is it possible to trim the side blade or the mud flap? Can the bottom part the flap be cut off? Can the side blades be taken to a band saw and have an inch or so cut off before they are painted? Would that do it?... Def want blades when I get my Z and flaps.

For those that have the EVOR blades, are they fairly 'floppy'? I mounted mine with the screws + half a dozen short pieces of 3M automotive tape and if feels like I could just tear them off by hand-and it wouldn't take that much. Anyone do it differently? The 5 screws just go into that 1/16" thick skirt and it feels like the screws will just work themselves out.
