installed mine on sat. took me about an hour and a half. biggest hassle was getting those damn foam inserts that hold the jack and tools in and out without removing the interior plastic pieces. anywyas, no huge difference in sound lecvel with my cnt cat back, hoever i had a body panel or something bussing at around 3700 rpm's that no longer buzzes. also, i have noticed by car has an overall more "solid" sound to it. meaning, it doesnt seem to sound as cavernous on the inside now. threw a little bhind the rear fender, so we will see if the notorious pinging sound cause by rocks hitting the fender quiets down a little.

wish i would have ahd a little more so i could completely cover the entire trunk area. but its a very easy product to work with and i would recommend it other car guys. great product gt mat!

p.s. sweet logo! my tool box now has a new decoration lol

I would do this except my sub is under that rear mat so deadening the sound would be...not a great idea.

Well if you have any rattles or vibrations in other parts of the car, you can definitely use the sample size to reduce that. Let me know if interested!

overall i was EXTREMELY happy with the install  i love how easy the product is to install, not to mention the rolling tool is an awesome plus... i give gtmat a 10 outa 10... its impact on my z was remarkable, i no longer have rattles when my sub is playing in high volumes. The mat worked out so well i actually turned up the gain on my sub :happydance:

Actually it would. The gtmat deadens noise from the road, keeping the inside sound in and the outside sound out. You will notice that your sub will sound clearer and better because it's not being conflicted by road noise. Also, if you were to do your whole trunk, you would be able to play your sub louder and not be able to hear it outside the car as much, which is a major bonus for not attracting those red and blue lights. I would say go for it, it can only help you and the sample is free. Win/win.

I called, put in an order. Spoke with a gentleman on the phone, he said that they would email me after it would ship? It's been a week and I never got an email.

I have some questions for those who have used GTMat on their doors. I'm thinking about adding it to my car to cut down on the vibration from my exhaust in the mornings and the vibration from having the stereo turned up. Will I feel the weight in the door? Will my exhaust note be too muted? I do work for the company but have been hesitant to pull the trigger since I love to hear my exhaust.

I wouldn't expect to have significant muting of the exhaust note if you do a door install. Trunk would have more impact. Since you work for them, maybe you have access to a piece that is about the total amount you'll need for one door. If so, drape that over the door and see for yourself if it is noticeably heavier.

I haven't yet done my install because I still have some things in my mind. First thought was should I do door or trunk - I leaning toward trunk because I think it will have more impact on overall road noise and even though I have the same exhaust concerns (w/o the exhaust yet tho :icon17:) I drive with windows down 90% of the time which makes the exhaust point moot. Second, I started thinking about giving you back the sample and getting the 80 mm for the entire car. I'm just not sure how much is needed. You can text or PM me a quote if you want ;)
