Stillen front bumper

Just wondering how many people have one, and how the fitment / quality is. If you have pics post em up please. Seriously considering this. I tried searching and couldn't find anything on here specifically about it. Urethane options are severely limited, and given how low I am it's my only practical option. Thanks

Xplicit97 06-21-2012 08:36 PM

Nobody has this? I know I've seen a few on here and at least 2 in the classifieds

Mike 06-21-2012 09:21 PM

I dont have any good pics, but I've had two of them. the first was the first one out of the mold and it had a large dimple in the drivers side of the main face of it. I ground the bottom off of it from being too low and scraping under braking at the race track.

Replaced it last september and the new one has perfect fitment and no dimple

Vichtz 06-21-2012 09:37 PM

I was lookin at this one too. Really want the Fujimura but its way too far out of my price range...

Xplicit97 06-21-2012 11:06 PM

I was thinkin Fujimura too, but at nearly $2400 without paint, and being fiberglass I decided against it. Even if it's FRP I think I'd go insane if I damaged it.

Vichtz 06-21-2012 11:31 PM

No doubt, I completely I agree haha. But the Fuji is so cool :(

Apoc370z 06-21-2012 11:55 PM

Definitely go for the fuji

martin82 06-22-2012 12:19 AM

I picked a used one up last night, haven't installed yet, maybe on saturday. I noticed the built quality is really good, only issues I might see is it might sag since its made of urethane or something, its very pliable and soft.... which is good for the track but hope it does sag down the middle like a 80 year old........

I didn't wanna track with an FRP or Fiberglass bumper, it will tear apart .......

I love it. I got mine after Stillen corrected the design and Ive had no issues. Just make sure you go to a quality body shop.

Xplicit97 06-22-2012 04:46 PM

Martin:yea I wanted that one, you beat me to it damnit lol

No issues with sagging? The bumper comes in 3 pieces right? Has to be molded together

martin82 06-22-2012 05:47 PM

The revised version should be 1 piece I believe. The one I picked up was 1 piece of only, I didn't see any signs of being it molded in 1 piece.

ENT-Z 06-22-2012 07:11 PM

I'm pretty sure they are still 3 pieces.

Xplicit97 06-22-2012 08:02 PM

I believe it was done in 3 pieces to reduce shipping costs

It is. I just ordered one today. But shipping is free threw Stillen at the moment.

Xplicit97 06-22-2012 10:39 PM

Looks like more of these will be showing up on the forum now ... People are gettin tired of the hassle of fiberglass and frp it looks like

I like the aggressive look and knowing it provides great airflow is the big plus

Xplicit97 06-22-2012 10:55 PM

Also since its designed with the G3 in mind the design is completely functional as well as aerodynamically tested

I really like the idea of the hole to pass air through directly to the filters. It's too bad there aren't more bumpers that have something similar or the option to do that. Our Z's seem to have no direct air flow to the intake filter area. Even more so compared to the G37's which have a separate grille, making G3's placement more logical.

Vichtz 06-23-2012 02:43 PM

word is carbon signal is replicating the Fuji, any word on if it could/will be molded in urethane?

gtabaz 06-23-2012 06:41 PM

i dont understand why the reps arent made in Urethane theyd make a killing if they did

That's what seperates the pros from the.........

kielbasa16 06-23-2012 07:23 PM

No issues with sagging on mine at all. Again, done by a very capable/professional installer. It came in 3 pieces, and I have not heard of that changing in a more recent version. Have to bond and blend the pieces together.

SPOHN 06-23-2012 07:34 PM

I'm not going to bond mine together. It's really not bad at when not. I want to have my car wrapped so maybe something can be done there.

Carbon signal already has one in frp and carbon I believe, however I am not convinced with their business model and customer service. From what I have read they have a problem with keeping in contact with customers and lead times

Itll be just fine Im sure. Will probably only notice it if youre looking for it.

martin82 06-23-2012 10:45 PM

sorry I was wrong, the bumper I picked up is 3 pieces, it was bonded before hand....... The bumper didn't like having the oem windshield fluid reservoir, I had to hack up the bumper a lot

I will post more pictures later today

simota1 06-24-2012 02:50 PM

^^^^ nice spohn thats gonna look amazing on your car bro

martin82 06-24-2012 07:12 PM

some pics of mine, ignore all the road rash/chips etc. Stock windshield wiper reservoir is on the way, you will need to trim around it. Also I plastidipped it black because it sticks out like crazy... I also posted some pics so you can see the 3 piece and how it sags a bit.

You can hear the intakes a lot more with the Stillen bumper. Now I need to wrap it matte black but its gonna be a PITA.

What are you saying that sags? I've seen a couple of kits that have some gap near one side of the headlight but that's no big deal.

martin82 06-24-2012 11:08 PM

It's pretty minor, check out the last 2 pictures, u can see a few sags, also where the bumper bolts on the 2nd piece near the headlight, there are slight stress cracks on there.

martin82 06-25-2012 12:57 PM

A few more pics, almost done wrapping it in vinyl it was not EASY. Sorry for the bad pics, my phone camera lens is all scratched

I am not a big fan of this bumper. It makes the Z look like a mustang in the front...

martin82 06-25-2012 06:27 PM

Once I have the mesh grill, the fangs and the brake cooling duct I dont think it could look like a mustang...

This comparison you made is for sure a first.

But at least the front clip is very functional. We could of paid 10k extra for a Nismo that doesn't do anything my base can't do. Just busting balls. Nothing personal.

Mike 06-25-2012 07:50 PM

by looking at my signature picture, I don't think they look the same at all.

Its not that hard to see the similarities... However, the differences are very stark, so I don't know why you would be reminded of the mustang from seeing this front fascia on a 370...

Xplicit97 06-26-2012 02:57 PM

A mustang?!?!? Really, wow I'm at a loss for words.. Can I have what you've been smoking?
