If you bought the car from a dealer I would take it back to them and have them order you a new one and have them install it for free.

They should take care of you.dealer

Good luck!

Dealer is over 800 miles away so that's not an option... does anyone know if there is a sealant behind the seal or what?

JAY- i dont think so cause ive not encounted that on my other cars where i did some audio work requiring me to run wires down the side, pulling out part off the seal and such.

check with bigaudiofanat as he has worked with many Z's for stereo installs. you can find him usually roaming around in the audio/visual section here at the370z.com. :)

telephone- so how do you like 303? :)

Sorry I didn't reply sooner to your question. I know that when I had my rubber seal replaced it wasn't on the section you are replacing. Mine was the one that fits along the top of the window and comes down. When I had it replaced they did use a gasket type sealer/adhesive. For you that may not be the case because its a different spot.

My Z is at the dealer right now getting some warrenty work done( fuel gauge not showing full) so I mentioned about the tear in the seal. I was told they will replace it at no charge! They say they can't explain how it happened but they'll take care of it.

I just home my Z form the dealer and I have to say it was a real nice experience. They ordered a new door seal at no charge and a new fuel sender. They spent all of a whole day tracking down a noise on the drivers door ( it was the window regulator - got a new one too) and the only thing that I paid for was an alignment cause the place that installed the tires and alignment left the steering off center. I'd say I'm really happy with them
