Good luck with everything OP! Sorry to hear this happened to your Z, main thing is you walked away.

Bullet_proof 03-27-2012 11:39 AM

ouch... glad ur ok.

take ur time, and preferably receive the car during the day and with plenty of light, don't be afraid to point out any defects, if it needs to go back to the shop as many times as it's needed, so be it.
check your inner panels for broken brackets/pins and do not let them tell you paint tone will even out when dries out better.
least but not last, stay positive but every time the car needs to go back for any reason (if any) ask for paperwork stating the reason and the repairs made.

good luck man.

That sucks, I would be upset. Never been rear-ended, thankfully.

I hope you never do man, one of the things that you will always do once you've been hit like that is that when you stop, you always look in the rear view mirror no matter what man. It sucks!!

Again, thank you guys for all of the support.

Does it surprise anyone how bad traffic is on I85? That place is a madhouse and a parking lot at the same time during the PM "rush hour"

bullitt5897 03-27-2012 06:03 PM

Srry to hear that this happened. ATL definitely has the worst drivers... I had a guy today drive down the wrong side of the road head on to me as I was turning onto a street because he did not want to wait behind a trash truck...

85 is is always a parking lot during rush hours.

Have you picked a shop to do your work? If not try Artcraft collision! Top Notch work and Jeff will really work things in your favor if you need aftermarket parts ;) hint hint lol

Hey I'm just curious.. why did you not choose to bring it back to a Nissan dealership? If some guy did that to my car and his insurance will be paying to fix it.. can you not demand they bring it back to a dealership?

The same thing happened to my Honda Civic before and I said 'screw it I don't care if the dealership overcharges.. not my problem' and ordered the replacement bumper/headlight and paint job/install etc. from them. It was probably like $1500 more but not my issue, plus it gave me peace of mind.. and it was after all, the other guy's responsibility to get my car back to near-mint condition. Coincidentally, afterwards there was a paint chipping issue and obviously the authorized dealership was more ready/willing to rectify any complaints.

Glad you're alright though man.. that's the most important thing. If the accident messed up your back that sorta thing could last forever.. can't put a price on something like that.

Sorry about ur car. That really sucks! yeah let us know if you got the diminished value claim. Should file a personal injury insurance claim also for ur back! Let me tell you the back pain may never go away. It might get better with time but never 100%. Thats an extra 5K-10K

I feel bad for whoever rear ends me if it ever happens, because that person is going to the hospital.

Well at first they took it to their body shop and sent me some kind of paperwork saying that i am giving them auth for them to start fixking the car, this was a few hours after the accident. I told them no and to take the car to the dealer that i got it from (Gwinnett Place Nissan). From there the car went to (Gwinnett Place Body Shop) and thats where the car is right now being fixed. But yeah i will let you guys know how everything is going. Thanks for the support tho!

You bet man, i already file the Personal Injury, i cant do anything till i finish all the treatments, but it is all in the works. Also, the Diminished Value claim is going to be file with in the next week or so. Once i have that in my hands i will post it for you guys to see and learn from my experience.
